Sharrif Floyd....

This guy just can't make his mind up! Yesterday I said "Its been an ongoing battle to get Floyd on campus this fall, and I won't be celebrating until he's actually there!" Well I'm glad I put that, because Floyd's plans for this weekend appear to have changed...for the 3rd time.

First he was set to go to Michigan, then South Carolina, then Michigan again....now its....Ohio State??? GoBlueWolverine (scout.com) spoke with Floyd yesterday, and he hopes to re-arrange with both UM and S Carolina, but OSU should be his visit this weekend.

Hugely annoying, I really shouldn't post anything about him until signing day!

  2. The last thing Michigan needs right now is another player who is a head case. Sometimes the best thing is the recruits that you don't get.

  3. Floyd is not the headcase here. The headcase is the moderator at Scout.com. It's been clear for some time now that Floyd is not seriously considering Michigan. The moderators on the Scout.com forums simply make things up in an attempt to increase readership. Sad, really.

  4. plus with will campbell, was this guy even really a need? i mean i guess he coulda switched to DE and left NT to campbell, but we seem pretty well set up on the d line right now

  5. I think he is definitely a major need. Floyd is an elite player and Michigan has virtually no depth on the d line. And getting Floyd would've allowed Michigan to play a traditional 4-3 even after Mike Martin leaves in a couple of years. Most importantly, though, there is always a need for super elite football players.

  6. Yeah abc123 hit a good point there, Michigan should always want an elite player, even if it isn't a position of need. We have two good quarterbacks at Michigan, and Devin Gardner coming as well, but would RR refuse to sign Braxton Miller next year? No, of course he wouldn't. As it happens, Floyd's position is one of need, Michigan has virtually no depth on the D-line. So Michigan won't give up on Floyd, however slim our chances seem to be. Personally I feel landing Seantrel Henderson (#1 overall prospect) would make a much larger statement to the College Football world that, Michigan is back.

  7. you guys make a good point. however, even with his visiting this weekend neither rivals.com nor ESPN actually recognize that were in the running for henderson. personally i would love to have him, but i cant imagine our shot is that good! on another note, i read an article about how kenny stills wants to go to USC, however with robert woods, kyle prater, and some other 4star WR they signed, they retracted his offer. Does this help our chances or is he still just looking elsewhere

  8. We have a better shot with Henderson than we do with Stills? Probably. I'm not sure if USC ever offered Stills, but if they do, or re-offer, he'll commit on the spot. So I wouldn't focus too much on him.

  9. One can only imagine what it will be like come decision time.

  10. Michigan has a much better chance with Stills than Henderson. Michigan has no chance with Henderson as he has already sent a letter to Michigan telling them that he is not interested. Unfortunate, but true. I think Floyd is a much bigger miss than Henderson though. I think Taylor Lewan is going to be a BEAST!

  11. Taylor Lewan was given #77 for a reason, Michigan want him to be the next Jake Long. In regards to your Henderson comments, clearly there is a lot of different information being spread around. Henderson is...shall we say "rumored" to be visiting Michigan this week. If he does, then consider Michigan well and truly in the race. If not, then its probably over, unless he shows for the OSU game? You have to stay hopeful!
