New Commit!

MGoBlog's TomVH has reported via Twitter that Fullback Sione Houma has committed to Michigan. Sione has visited Michigan before, but this is still a surprise; got nothing prepared, and it's late here, so commitment profile to follow in the morning. In the mean time, a quick thought:

Spaces in the class were already tight, and some of you might not be too keen on taking a fullback right now. But let's remember that UM tried to take one at the end of the 2011 class, so it only makes sense that they take one here.

  4. I was using max preps to brag (they have us at number 1) but Rivals #2 holds more water IMO. I have no doubt after this weekend we could be number one across every recruiting board. I'm predicting at least two more commits this week/end. I like that darboh is visiting for 3 days AND going to the BBQ.

  6. A few days ago Espn updated there class rankings and player rankings. Here are a few notes:
Michigan moved up to the #5 class
Kalis moved up a few spots in the 150
Aj Williams got ranked-3 star, rating of 77, TE #33
Jeremy Clark-rated 3 star, rating of 76, S #39. Oddly enough he is rated higher than Allen Gant.

  7. This doesn't effect Dunn in the least bit. Houma will be used as a FB blocking for Dunn I hope

  9. Well this was a surprise. Given his size and his ratings, he must be a serious blocker. He looks fast on his video, but that could be the level of competition. He looks more like a FB/RB hybrid to me.

I formally place this into the "trust the coaches on this one" file. I wonder if he was concerned that he wouldn't have a spot after this weekend's BBQ. Regardless, welcome aboard Sione!

  10. Smokey, if you watch his highlights, he's legitimately fast. He's even the deep back on a couple kick-off highlights. Speedy kid who is tough to bring down!

  11. I am impressed with his speed. All sources peg him at 4.5 which is quite fast for a FB. He may not grow any taller (if he does, kudos) but if he packs on some serious muscle in his senior year, he'll see some early playing time.

  12. I would rather have had E.J. Fatu, 5"10 240 pounds!!, he would have been a better fit in our "ManBall" offense.
