Couple of quick updates

We haven't talked a whole lot about the offensive skill positions, but here's two quick updates on a QB and WR.

- Austin Appleby was recently selected to the Elite 11 finals, which is a great achievement for him, especially since he's been recovering from a knee injury for a while now. Appleby has said he will camp at Michigan, and my guess is he'll earn an offer there, because this week's rumblings about Gunner Kiel aren't that positive for Michigan.

- Jehu Chesson (Ladue, MO) has received an offer from Michigan this week, per Allen Trieu's twitter. Despite the firing of Tressel, I'm still not sure that Michigan will get Dwayne Stanford, and given that Aaron Burbridge has academic issues, it makes sense to offer Chesson. He should be visiting Michigan this summer.

  2. Well he still hasn't taken his UM visit, and there's a view that he might be a little worried about how good Shane Morris was at tge Elite 11 camp.
I think Alabama has also come on strong for him, the Tide and Oklahoma might be ahead of UM at this point

  3. Why are we in such a rush to get the verbal commits from these low profile athletes vice waiting and securing the TOP athletes. How many Scholarships do we have available. It seems to me it would be time to start turning down these lowly recruited athletes and wait it out for the better athletes.

  4. Charles, I would not say our commits are low profile; many are 4 star guys and still have their last year of high school to go. I am thinking that Hoke and staff want to get guys that really want to be at Michigan without any hesitation.

He put his announcement off it will probably be awhile but it wont be in the next few days or weeks..His coaches are telling him to wait...I secretly think they are trying to steer him somewhere else

  7. @ Charles

Everyone we have so far is a good player I dont know who you are speaking of when you say low profile athletes ..And for the record alot of these guys fly under the radar because they havent been to the big name camps and got seen by the recruiting agencies ..Doesnt mean they arent spectacular players

  8. Yeah, I have to go back and look at some of the highlight reels to get my own perspective instead of looking at the *s a player has on recruiting sites.
