Wayne Morgan Update

So it looks like Morgan has decided to delay his decision, on the advice of his coaches and family. If he decided today, I'm certain it would have been for Michigan, but this delay puts some doubt into his future at Ann Arbor.

Rutgers will make another push for him, doing anything they possibly can. Hopefully this won't turn into a Ron Thompson situation, where the recruit is so close to committing, but as time goes on, the chances go down and down. Right now I really don't know what's going to happen here, your guess is as good as mine.

Morgan's new timetable could give Armani Reeves a chance to commit, but he recently stated that Penn State has a slight lead for him, mainly because they'll let him play CB and WR.

Morgan is a great prospect and definitely one I'd like to see in the class, but DB hardly a position of need for this class, so this certainly isn't the end of the world. For example, it would hurt a lot more if Jordan Diamond did this.

  1. Speaking of Diamond, do you know which of the Michigan leans have a summer or pre-senior season timetable? I've seen plenty of them but I never took notice until now. Wondering which targets might be deciding sooner rather than later. Thought it was great to see Appleby get invited to the Elite 11.

  2. Diamond, Wormley, Thurston, Magnuson, Kiel, Pipkins are all summer decisions that Michigan has an interest in.

  3. I think this kid will end up missing the bus on going to Michigan or Hoke told him there are no more open spots at Michigan.

Benji,Can you tell us what is going on with the silent commits. First is there any silent commits at this time and if so how many? I know you can't tell us who but can you say Off. or Def. and where they are from? I would be thankful.Do you know when Appleby and Chesson will get offers?

  4. I doubt he missed the bus. I mean come on, we take Allen Gant (who by the way I re-watched his "highlight" film" and all I can say is, Jesus Christ, I hope it's worth the burnt scholly) but not keep a spot open for Morgan? Morgan is precisely the type of D-back we need if we are to compete with the speedy receivers of the SEC in bowl game situations.

  5. Here we go with the silent commitment questions. Quit asking Benji about this & respect any players decision to keep things quiet until they are ready to go public.

  6. In a Shane Morris interview he said Kiel has no idea where he's going yet. He has a few favorites, but Kiel might still be deciding until the day of his announcement.

  7. Ceasar I did not ask him to name anybody and if you don't like me asking question don't read my comments. And if you read my comment I asked Benji not you.

  8. Come on Wayne! You are messing up our momentum.

  9. Who does Michigan have a real chance of pulling away from OSU? Dunn wants to wait and see and Kalis wanted to decommit but the coach talk him in to staying. How long can OSU keep this class together?

  10. Our chances with OSU commits is entirely dependent upon the sanctions placed upon the program. If they get USC type penalties or worse, we'll probably have our pick of the litter.

  11. Hey Benji,Check out the MGoBoard. According to the OSU Scout board there talking about SI investagating Michigan.Talking about Denard being blackmailed in staying. Also claim Kentucky will also be investagated

  12. They locked the topic. Not because it's bs, but because it was so funny they were worried about people hurting themselves laughing.

  13. Ya, that's what i was thinking. It's all BS! That's what we can expect from a Buckey Nut!

  14. seems as though we dropped Morgan all together, Jarod Wilson is now who we're going after.. is this right?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I heard this as well. If this is the trade off I will take Wilson. He is a true safety and a monster in coverage. I will take him.

  16. Scout is saying one ship has sailed but another is close to port? I don't subsribe to scout can someone tell me who its about? i am guessing Morgan is out so who is the new guy?

  17. MGOblog is reporting Morgan and Michigan has parted ways. He also was the silent comit. They are now after Jarrod Wilson.

  18. Well looks like we have gotten to the point of being picky with who we accept... We got our 2 CB's in Standifer and Richardson S in Gant and now we are going after Wilson....Well now its time to get us a couple of monster DT's and some Olineman

  19. there Jer, got your feelings hurt huh? Just too bad. Well guess what, could care less if you were asking Jim Tressel also about who the silent commitment was. Why do you think Terry Richardson kept delaying his original date? Yeah that's right RJS let the cat out the hat, then RJS took his twitter account down.

What do you want this blog to turn into the Dayton Daily News, ruining the same for Kaleb Ringer. Go ask Tom VH what he says everytime people chime in wanting a story leaked. Respect the privacy of players.

YOU WANTED TO KNOW WHO THE SILENT COMMIT WAS, BOOM THE DYNAMITE EXPLODED TODAY, IT WAS MORGAN & GUESS WHAT, UM IS NO LONGER IN THE RUNNING.

The above are facts, whether you like it or not. Yeah I am talking to you, Jer.

  20. Cesar/Jer,

Play nice!!! I agree, we respect the privacy of these kids and if we....I guess Benji knows who it is we shut the F up but it's okay to banter back and forth and guess and have fun. Nothing but love on this blog....we can disagree but if we need to hate....let's save it for Columbus and Lansing (oh...and the SEC!!!)
    Cheers

BTW.......look at the tape on Chesson - 1) we need a WR and 2) this kid is unrated everywhere but getting noticed.
    Phil

  21. Cesar is a pea-head who constantly acts out for attention. He wasn't cuddled as a baby, so he constantly has to insult other Michigan fans for their questions and comments.

Cesar, you must have much, much more authority on these situations because you always "have the facts." Do you spend all of your time, 24/7, on your computer reading up on Michigan recruits? If you are so sure with your information, why do you come on this blog and comment -- just to antagonize real Michigan fans?

I find it kind of pathetic that you have to be such a bully, and would probably respond to this in some asinine, bullying way that wouldn't bother me -- just proves you have the maturity level of a newborn.

I, for one, come here to see what Benji has collected and read the other leads. It's great to have UofM fans gather in excitement. There's always that one person who has to be a total bag. Cesar, that person is you.

  22. Benji, I would like to say sorry if I put you in a bad spot with the silent commit I do not want you to rain on these kids parade so I am sorry about that I am just trying to keep things going on the blog and find out new info.

Now as for Ceaser I am not tapped into the recruiting pipeline like other people are. If benji does not want to anwser a question I am sure he won't. I do not eat or sleep recruiting maybe you do in fact I would bet money you are a twitter follower of every kid that was a offer. And as for these kids privatice I can't stop a newspaper for turning on there own kid and I can't stop a friend and teammate from spoiling his plans and as for Morgan thats between him and Michigan. Si in closing I am talking to you Ceaser you closed minded ass.

  24. Any news on that silent commit?? We really are going to have to meet for a beer at the game. :)

    Benji,
What are the odds now that maybe things slow down a little bit as far as committments go. I have to think that this rush has been a little out of the ordinary:

    As of June 1:
    2011 - 14commits
    2010 - 4 commits
    2009 - 11 commits
    2008 - 4 commits
    2007 - 4 commits
    2006 - 5 commits
    2005 - 2 commits
    2004 - 5 commits
    2003 - 2 commits
    2002 - 0 commits

  25. - Ahhh Profersor, I must say you put in a lot of "hard work" into your defense of the weak. Great job, since Shaquille O'Neal has now retired, you can wear the might superman (S) & defend the weak. I'll just call you mighty mouse, there tiny. As for " Real Michigan Fans ", you far away from one. We both know that. Tiny.

    - As for Mr. Jer89, "spellcheck" is all that has to be said. I prefer being called a closed minded ass, but nothing like a douchebag, the kind you are, perfecto.

  26. Not worried about it Sir John Jay. Responding to comments made my way, that's all.

  27. Ceacar I can spell silent commit. Does anybody know of any?
