Washington (D.C.) Defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds recently received his Michigan offer, and the Wolverines should have a decent chance with the four star recruit.
Illinois and Pittsburgh are two other big schools that have offered him a scholarship, but big time programs such as LSU, Alabama and USC are showing interest after Kevin put in a sound performance at the UA AA combine. He earned an invite to the next year's UA game too.
As for Michigan, McReynolds is impressed with what the Wolverines have to offer in terms of academics, alumni backing and facilities, UM will be a school that he takes a "long hard look" at.
U of M really needs to recruit here in DC. There is a lot of talent coming out of here that should be easy pickings since there is no state school in DC and the closest schools are Maryland, Virginia and VaTech. I love VaTech but they shouldn't be in the same recruiting class as Michigan.
ReplyDeleteWhile there may be some talent in DC, it fails in comparison to the states of Ohio, Florida, Texas and Louisiana, which are UM's primary recruiting states. So whilst Michigan will always look at the odd player from the DC area, it won't become a main pipeline any time soon.
