At least three new offers were given out by Michigan today; two of which went to the Cass Tech duo, Royce Jenkins-Stone and Terry Richardson, and the third went to offensive lineman Dan Voltz (Barrington, IL).
It's good to see the Cass Tech guys get their offers, as that's definitely a pipeline Michigan wants to keep open in the future; it consistently produces undersized but talented cornerbacks!
As for Voltz, well he's already got 10+ offers and is rated as an early four star prospect by scout.com, so that will be tough battle to win. MSU, Stanford and Wisconsin are just some of the schools that have extended an offer his way.
As someone kindly pointed out in the comments section below, Tate Forcier has landed at Miami (FL) to play for the new Canes' coach, Al Golden. Tate joins an ever growing group of Miami players that either signed with, or were once committed to Michigan; the group currently consists of Matt Goudis, Dallas Crawford, Antonio Kinard, and now Forcier. Those are only the players that Golden got, he actually went after some other Michigan commits, like Kellen Jones, and Jack Miller.
Brady Hoke has stated in interviews that he expects some players won't make it through spring ball at Michigan, perhaps due to the style of coaching, or just the new systems. Either way, you can guarantee Golden will be after them....
Benji, rumor floating around on Greg Brown possibly leaving Michigan ?, know anything about this.
ReplyDeleteIt's going on something based on Kevin Koger's twitter right? I wouldn't read too much into it right now, but you never know.
ReplyDeleteYes, Koger's twitter. Will see what happens, could be nothing.
ReplyDeleteWho do you think won't make the team or might not make the team
ReplyDeleteCheck out the recruiting video for Graham Glasgow. Got to be the most entertaining OL video I've ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UA5fAi-hAlw

ReplyDeleteI think we may see alot of the undersized players transfer or not get any playing time because if we are going back to a more physical style of football , those lil scat backs Rich Rod recruited wont be able to stand up to the constant pounding...So I can see a couple of the smaller RB's leaving and maybe a couple of these small slot receivers going also..Other than that unless the other players dont want to work out or wont buy into the new system then we probably wont see anyone moving anywhere
Sam Webb also hinted at a Frosh CB transferring. Sounds like hes hinting at Brown as well. Coach Hoke has also recently stated that he doesn't expect all of the players to on the team to make it through spring ball. I agree with UMFAN323 in the fact that the smaller slot type guys will probably be the ones to leave. Gallon comes to mind as a possible transfer.
ReplyDeleteEveryone blamed RR for not adjusting to the players he had the first 2 years and watching players transfer. Now some smaller guys might leave and everyone is ok with it? I'm all about getting bigger and stronger but treat hoke the same way we treated RR. Find a way to keep Brown!! Odoms is small and may bruise, you ok with him leaving? Keep the guys we have bc have we not learned we need depth???!! I rather see a small 3rd string DB play safety if injuries than Vinnapol. I may be over reacting but I don't want to see the transfer ball start rolling again
ReplyDeleteI dont see why we cant keep guys like terrence robinson, jeremy gallon, drew dileo, vincent smith. Just because we're moving into a physical offense and more pro style, that offense still plays a slot receiver and it doesn't really matter what your size is, if you got skills the coach should find a way to utilize your talents.
ReplyDeleteI am calling it now. The first commit of the 2012 recruiting trail will be Jordan Diamond. He grew up a wolverine fan, followed them closely since he was in high school, was really wanting an offer from them, loves the switch to pro style, and already has said they were his leader
ReplyDeleteI'll guess TE Ron Thompson....
ReplyDeleteI'M guessing Dorial Green-Beckham is our 1st commit.
ReplyDeleteMalybe Ron Thompson but I think I saw something per scout saying he may not make a decision till later on in the process. I could be wrong. I wouldn't mind getting the ball rolling early so we can get some younger recruiters out there swayin their friends to come to the maize and blue
ReplyDeleteOn the wolverines website it says greg brown is already on the 2011 spring roster. Anyone know why this is?
ReplyDeleteGreg brown enrolled early
ReplyDeleteThe only player that fit Sam's criteria was Terrence Talbott
ReplyDeleteWe offered a WR from Cali Derrick Woods ..Seems to be a good players hes on everyones watch list ..Doubt we get him knowing that
ReplyDeleteBy the way seems as if Devin may have got approved for his Medical redshirt
ReplyDeletemgorecruit should also start Basket Ball recruiting updates :) after all Michigan is improving every year.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know who is going to be at the Ohio Nike combine this weekend ?? Any prospects that Michigan is interested in ??
