Terry and Terrance Talbott, from Huber Heights (Ohio) have pledged to the Michigan Wolverines.
Terry is a 265lb defensive tackle, rated as a three star prospect by scout.com, he will provide some much needed depth at the position. The same goes for Terrance, who plays cornerback. He is not rated by scout, but he expects to have a breakout senior season.
Michigan now has 18 verbal commits for the class of 2010, 7 of which are defensive players, but expect one or two of those wide receiver commits to try out on defense. The lack of depth on defense has been a real issue this year, and most expect Michigan to fill out the rest of the class with defensive players.
The brothers sat down and had a long talk with parents etc and decided that Michigan was the right place to be. The other school that had offered both of them was Wisconsin, who already have a commit from one of the Talbott brothers' teammates, who they now look forward to playing against in years to come.
I had heard that both had Michigan as their leader, but this committment does come as a bit of a surprise, they didn't have a timeline for the process or any dates set.
Still, I'm thrilled with the news, maybe this will put some pressure on other defensive back prospects to commit to UM before the spaces run out...hint hint Cullen Christian/Tony Grimes/Brandon Ifill/Josh Shaw/Josh Furman/Dietrich Riley/Sean Parker, yes we have offered quite a few, and all of those rate Michigan highly.
A quick quote from Terrance to end this story - "Michigan has it all"
