Quick Peter Kalambayi Update

I just got done speaking with Peter Kalambayi, a OLB/DE recruit out of Matthews, North Carolina (Butler HS). Peter's recruitment has recently blown up and he was also just offered by Michigan not too long ago. Some recruiting sites have him as the best player in the state of North Carolina, which is a great accomplishment. Heres the update:

-Has a top four of Stanford, Clemson, North Carolina, and Michigan. Says that he's been getting high interest from Oregon and Alabama. Recent offer from Kentucky. Might visit Michigan relatively soon for a camp showing.

-Coach Montgomery visited his high school a few weeks ago. They told him that he could play OLB or DE depending on how his body develops.

-The biggest thing that Peter likes about his top four schools is that they all have a good mix of academics and football, which will be one of his biggest deciding factors in his recruitment.

-His biggest strengths would be his pass rushing ability and his coverage skills. He says that he struggles in the run game, if he's always thinking pass.

-He emulates his game after Brian Orakpo and Von Miller. His favorite thing to do is rush the passer. Has no idea when he wants to decide.

    2. Thanks. I just needed something positive. We have been up and down the last week or so with Garnett, Reeves, Grant, kozan and Diamond. I do like the pick up of Henry and Norfleet. Plus I had a family member in the hospital and I hit a wild boar with my car on Tuesday. So it has been one of those weeks. I hope in the end Kozan commits to UM but I am not holding much hope for that. once again thanks.

    3. Sorry to hear about your family member, hopefully everything is ok.

My question is, where do you live that you hit a wild boar on the road?

    4. I live just outside Orlando. We have wild boar taking over.

  4. If this kid is athletic enough I would let him play olb in college, I think he fits a 3-4 defense which it seems like were moving more and more towards that anyway.

  5. Just curious, what school(s) were going hard after him?

  6. Simply Complex. First off, I love the work you are doing. You have been a great addition to this blog. Keep up the good work.

I just looked at the article about Kozan where it says he will be announcing in 36 hours. I believe that it has been just about 36 hours to the minute from when this article was posted yesterday. Do you know what he is planning on doing. Do you know if he has a set time tonight that he will announce? Or is this totally up in the air for tonight? If he really is going to announce tonight....

    1. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.

I think that his decision is totally up in the air about when he'll make his decision. It could be tonight, tomorrow etc.

  7. Can someone tell me how Auburn jumped from 14th. to 9th. on Scout by picking up Diamond? I bet UM would not have jumped to #1 if he went with UM.

    1. Wow. That is a big jump. However, I think we would have moved 1 or 2 spots with him in our class. When you as far back as 14 the differences between classes isn't very much. So I think you would probably jump farther. That being said, 5 spots is a long way to move. If they get Kozan I say they jump Alabama...obviously I am joking.

    2. I think Auburn is full and they already have 6 o linemen committed. So I don't know if they will take another.

    3. Well that is good news. So it is us v.s. Iowa then. Well, I guess we have a good chance then. I wonder what made Kozan change his mind. I also wonder what made him wait 3 or 4 days to re-decide.....

    4. I think he got word that there OC was quitting the day after NSD. One of the other guys on here said the other day that he wanted to go to Auburn but Auburn wanted to see if they get Diamond.

  8. Does anyone know who was recruiting Kozan to Iowa? I wonder if it was the OC, or the fact that he heard the OC was leaving, that made him think twice before pressing the send button on his fax.

And, what happened to all of the self righteous WVU fans who ripped RR for breaking his contract and going to court, now that WVU is breaking contracts and going to court? Latest weasel move? They just canceled their away game against Florida State. Bbbrrrooocckkk Bbbrrooock goes the chicken.

The University of Michigan opens against the national champions, in Texas. Can't wait.....
