Minnesota Prediction!

Going out on the town tonight, so God knows what time I'll wake up tomorrow; better do the prediction tonight whilst I'm in a clear state of mind!

Minnesota just lost to an FCS team, which is obviously embarrassing, but I don't actually think they'll be that bad tomorrow. I think they could actually put up a decent amount of yards, but just not that many points. UM's defense has been good at forcing turnovers, and they'll be looking to continue that trend with 2-3 tomorrow.

On offense, Michigan should be able to get the passing game going against what is a suspect secondary that even has injuries! I hope Michigan come out throwing short passes, to build up Denard's confidence and also to surprise the Minnesota defense, which is no doubt expecting 70% run plays.

Overall Michigan should lead this game from the start and gradually extend their lead to 15-20 points by the fourth quarter, where we'll hopefully see some of the backups get a chance.

Prediction: Michigan 42; Minnesota 17

  1. Any word on Marqueis Gray yet? I read something earlier about him having a foot/toe issue and possibly not suiting up for the game. If he doesn't play I think the game would be a huge blowout, but things could be a little interesting if he is able to play and is effective.

  2. I look for the game to be a blowout as well, but I don't expect the passing game to materialize anytime soon. I look for the running backs to go off tomorrow, and start ripping off huge chunks of yards. I think we jump out to a 28 point lead midway through the 2nd quarter, and continue to pound the ball on the ground. I think the defense will continue to surprise, and the evolution will continue. Not only will they keep the points against at a minimum, I think total yardage against us will decrease as well.... Final Prediction... Good Guys 48 Gophers 10

  3. Denard has a better chance of throwing for 300 yards than our running backs have of getting 200 yards combined... Ill go with denard 150 rushing and almost 200 yards passing...

  4. @Hail...I thought that DR would get over 200 yds tomorrow too until I walked outside. Don't know if you're in Michigan but it can't be more than 50 degrees outside with 20 mph winds with gusts to 30 or 40 mph. I expect a steady diet of the run game with passing in certain situations. I think the run game will definitely account for more than 200 yds esp considering North Dakota was able to push around the Gophers defense last week.

  5. This is a really good article on Craig Roh's "re-commitment" to Michigan

    http://espn.go.com/colleges/michigan/football/story/_/id/7036414/craig-roh-feeling-playing-better-michigan-wolverines

Also for those who don't know Adam Bisnowaty committed to Pitt... so i am guessing the final OL's we stand a chance at getting a commitment from are Banner, Garnett, Diamond?

  6. Love this blog by the way. Everyone seems to be as into Michigan as I am hahaha... Anyway, I think michigan just blows this game wide open by the middle of the second quarter. The DR. runs for 125 only because he beaks free a few times. I really think Smith goes nuts for 150 and two scores, while Martinand Roh have their best games of the year so far. And can I mention real quick that Jake Ryan is an animal:) watch for him to have another great start and cause or recover another fumble.

Prediction; Michigan 42 other team 13 tops

  8. Not really mate. There are no big time 2012 recruits on campus, although there might be a couple good 2013 guys.

  10. Well I think some of you are about to get your wish...I can't see Devin Gardner not getting a lot of PT. By the way, Al Borges could not have done a better job in the game plan for passing. DR had clearly lost some confidence throwing the ball. Very smart to do a lot more short passes to keep the sticks moving to help get DR working on more positive things again. Run game looked great but I think a lot of teams will run the ball well on Minnesota this year.
