Reeves to PSU

Cornerback Armani Reeves did indeed commit to Penn State today, as foreseen by pretty much everyone. The recent visit to Penn State and the fact that his current teammate Camren Williams is a PSU commit didn't give us much hope in the first place.

If Michigan still wants another CB in this class, then it will probably be Yuri Wright; who would actually be the top prospect overall for UM should he commit. Wright has UM near the top of his list, but hasn't visited yet, so it's hard to say where things stand.

  1. Okay. Well whats the deal with Ohio?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Same deal with Auburn, they'll be under investigation for a long time and hopefully the NCAA can find that paper trail that was obviously pretty well hidden lol. I want Yuri real bad, hopefully we can get him on campus for an official. Not too many elite corners these days walkin around at 6'2

  3. Does anyone know the deal with Elijah Shumate? Scouts has him highly interested in Michigan?

  4. can anybody help me remember? Was failure to monitor one of the charges the NCAA was charging UM with a couple of years ago?

  5. We are in his top 5, but we most likely won't take him and have probably parted ways. There is no indication that the coaches want another safety.

    Regarding osu:
Today it became official that the NCAA is still investigating osu for new allegations
They key source for the SI article has decided to come forward to the NCAA and will meet with them next week

    ReplyDelete
  6. Mark,
Where did you hear that the key source is coming forward?

  7. Interview with Greg Mattison:

Q: How to you defend against Denard Robinson?

A: You put 13 guys on the field...I'm just glad I don't have to try to defend against him.

I have seen rumors for a few days, but an Espn reporter (I forgot who) said on sportscenter today that it has been confirmed that he is meeting with the NCAA.

    ReplyDelete
  9. That would be great if he has proof?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I forget where I saw it, but I saw that he had incriminating photos regarding the osu players.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is it photos like the one's from the SEC school where when the kids were questioned said it was my uncles and he fills atm machines and the other said it was his mothers?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Its inevitable. Dunn's coming. I know it. This will all be too much for us.

And for anybody who cares about Anthony Zettel I have some news. I played football with Anthony at the same high school. I was actually his guard for two years on the offensive line. He was a huge, huge miss for Michigan because he's 265 solid muscle and is competing for a starting spot on Penn State's d-line.

I went back to the 2010 and saw some of the stuff that was said. Just kind of decided to post something about it. Not that most of you will care, lol. Good news is that we'll only play him twice.

  13. @jer
I do know what the photos involve, but the author of the SI article (award winning investigative journalist) definitely would have made sure this guy was legit.

  14. Wes Brown put us in his top 2 with Miami. I like him better than Dunn....

  15. Mark,
Thanks for the info. I am trying not to be to judgemental of OSU stuff but very time I start to let things go about possible sanction against OSU either OSU give them self a slap on the wrist or the NCAA just dismisses the biggest violation againest them Failure to monitor. So I just don't get it OSU admitts they did violate NCAA rules after saying they did nothing wrong.Does'nt failure to monitor mean that you have no clue what your coaches and player are doing? And I find myself hoping they get nailed to wall.Is that wrong of me?LOL

  16. Davon,

Has he taken a visit to UM yet?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wouldnt like Brown, especially if he brought Diggs with him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Brown is equal to Dunn in overall ability . And why not?

    Jer
    no he hasn't visited yet.

    ReplyDelete
  19. As for Wes Brown. Thats pretty exciting. He's a very good looking back, and if he shows a lot of interest, I'm sure Michigan will do what they can to grab him. Dunn better commit soon or he'll regret it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sorry Davon, I really messed that up. What I meant to say was "I wouldnt mind Brown, especially if he brought Diggs with him." my fault.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is it realistic we close this class with brown diggs wright and either an offensive or defensive lineman

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ Kyle

I think its more realistic everyday. Brown obviously shows high interest, and he could help recruit Diggs who has said he could be "the next big time receiver" at Michigan. We also have Blake Countess already on the team, he played with these guys last year. And we already know Wright is HIGH on Michigan, so it's all a definite possibility as far as I'm concerned.

  23. Why would we want another DB in this class when we already have 4 and a greyshirt? I could see us ending up with an ATH maybe, but I don't know where we'd put another DB after all the young kids Hoke inherited, plus all the kids he took last year, plus the great class we have this year.

  24. Touch the banner is tweeting Kellen Jones will play for Oklahoma... Does anyone know what in the world is going on with this kid?? I'm more confused than ever hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  25. Don't know if u guys heard but Kellen Jones has enrolled at Oklahoma. Looks like he will be part of the sooners football team once he has cleared everything with the NCAA.

    ReplyDelete
  26. wow that was a really ugly post...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree about the ugliness of that post. Let him go his separate ways. Remember Bo's mantra: "Those who STAY will be CHAMPIONS." No need to berate on here; don't want future recruits seeing that type of talk; let's not act like OSU.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Pay no mind to pussycat. Maybe he will get mad, cry on his keyboard, and storm away again. Like he did a few months ago.

Other than chatroom rumors, not one shred of information has come out regarding anything negative about Kellen Jones.

The only facts are that he left the MI program (I assume he reported because MI was quoted as saying everyone cleared and reported), and has now joined another storied program.

Maybe he just changed his mind. Maybe he wanted to be close to home. Maybe he freaked when he saw the outrageous depth at LB for MI that was taking shape (I doubt that, since he could have seen the field this year).

In any event, I was guilty of judging this kid on rumor, and felt pretty stupid when I realized my mistake. Not only do I wish him the best of luck, but I offer him apologies on behalf of everyone who saw it fit to be his judge and jury.

Just think of what an absolute travesty it would be if turns out the kid never did anything wrong to anyone in his life?

I'll save the scarlet letter for the scarlet and gray, where it belongs.

  29. WOW,Texas A&M,Clemson,Mizzouri and FSU to the SEC. Now the recruiting wars will start. The NCAA may need to rethink all this realignment this will not be good for college football.

  30. Big ten could get Oklahoma and we could try to get ND again.

  31. Mark & Jer
I live in Columbus and the rumor going around is that more players are/were selling memorabilia to someone in NW Ohio. I think it's also safe to speculate that NCAA was not satisfied with OSU's investigation with the cars. Even though they were paid for, when players are getting $25,000 cars for $10,000, it raises eyebrows. I personally hope whatever happens isn't too severe. Tress already robbed us of the satisfaction of beating him. That would have been a real feather in Hoke&Co's cap, plus now OSU fans have a built in excuse, which they will use. UM was going to be back regardless of OSU's troubles, I really believe that. Point is, let's remain excited about real coaches, and what they are about to do, and not about the penalties of OSU. Go Blue!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I personally hope they are pummeled into the stone age, and become the SMU of the Big Ten.

While I realize that, like USC, the scandals in no way yielded a competitive advantage, and the best teams won the games, I also realize that the team in ohio is supported by the largest base of scumbag fans North of LSU.

I'd be perfectly happy if for, the next decade, MI's main rivals were ND, Nebraska, and MSU. I'd even love to see IU get on a roll.

MI-o good for the game? Poppycock. MI pancaking o year after year for a decade is possible, and I for one, would love to experience it to it's fullest.

  33. I just want to see them drop the hammer to teach other schools a lesson. There needs to be a zero tolerance policy in cases where schools and school officials are involved. These are the people who are supposed to be in charge of molding and shaping the people who will one day be in charge of this country. Allowing these types of things to happen is also doing these kids a great disservice for when they have to go out in the real world and are no longer football stars (which a large number of them will eventually have to deal with this face). Sports is supposed to teach you about fair play, team work, and working hard and not how many cars you can drive at a steep discount, how many tattoos you can get for signed merchandise or anything else of that nature.

  34. Mark,

The problem I have with these super Conference it will turn into the have and have nots even more then we have now. If those 4 schools join the SEC that will give them 16 schools you will have alot of schools that will not play each other for a couple of years. It will be 2 SEC schools playing for the national championship eevery year because they will say our conference is better then all the other. Recruiting will sound like "What you could'nt get into a SEC school". Thats going to make the B1G,Big 12,Pac 12,ACC and the Big east sound like MAC schools not that the MAC schools are bad but not at the level of conferences like the B1G. T.V will only cover SEC games. And don't get me started on why ND,Texas and BYU have there own T.V deals. In the end the NCAA will let this happen and regret it later and it will be to late.In ten years there will be no B1g,SEC,ACC,Big 12,Pac 12, Big East or any other confernece we will divide the country in to 4 section and call it a day.
Thanks for letting me vent and feel free to let me know how you feel I have thick skin.

  35. I watched Al Borges press conf. and he sounds like a famous announcer. I am thinking Ernie Harwell but I may be wrong see what you think.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Regardless of what happens, Virginia Tech and Mizzou have said their not interested in being a part of the SEC, and A&M might get shot down by the SEC presidents. It looks liklier that FSU or another southern college from the ACC will become the 14th SEC school. It looks like the SEC is only looking for 1.

  37. I really don't think Oklahoma would be good for the Big Ten. After the OSU dirt we don't need more. Oklahoma has had thier share of major violations recently. Notre Dame isn't joining any conference as long as they have their NBC contract. The only way they would if Big Ten teams, Big East, and usc quit scheduling them. NBC would not shell out the $$$$$$$ to them without marquee games. I think Pittsburgh and Rutgers would be better. A natural rivarly with Penn State and Pittsburgh. Rutgers would be good in that it would open up the NY market to the Big Ten. Anyone have thoughts on this ?

    ReplyDelete
  38. i would like these 4 teams to join BigTen
    1) Rutgers
    2) Maryland
    3) Pittsburgh
    4) Missouri

:) I got many friends going to Maryland..i want MI to smoke them every year :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. JC-

Contrary to popular belief, ND would make more money by joining the Big 10 than they currently take in on their NBC contract.

They simply relish being independent, which appeals to their international fan base.

I have a simple solution: Force their hand. Refuse to schedule any more home and home games. You want to be independent? Fine. We will play you on Main Street, but not in South Bend. If every Big Ten team treated them the same, they would have no choice.

Is that why the series is set to take a break in the coming years? I think so. I bet DB and the Big Ten are telling them that future schedules are subject to negotiation. If they want to fill their stadium every other year playing MI, MSU, Purdue, etc, they need to join the Big Ten.

Otherwise, good luck finding high quality opponents looking for non-conference match ups in the middle, and late in the season.

The days of quality non-conference games are almost over. Sure, a MI-AL game will happen every year. But almost all other games will be scrimmages against cupcakes.

  40. Asad,

Adding those four teams does nothing to improve the B1G conference. When Texas A&M join the SEC they will add a hugh fan and T.V base to a already hugh fan base not so much T.V. The point is not to add more teams to the B1g. If conference want to compete with the SEC they have to be smart not just add teams that can't help your conference. I think the B1G network could do a better job of covering games. The B1G could spread there games out to get more games on T.V and the last thing WIN your BOWL GAMES. One thing I would love to see but will never happen have a SEC team play a bowl game outside in B1G country pretty sure they would'nt leave the locker room.

  48. Benji,

I know your busy and not sure if you will read this but I am going to ask anyway. I missed your live chat last month and I was wondering if you could do weekly chats on Sundays or Mondays to talk about the game and upcoming games. Only if it works into your busy schedule? Thanks

  49. I made up my dream list for the final 4 spots.

    Dunn
    Wright
    Garnett/Peat
    Payton/Diggs

That would be a great finish to this recruiting class and should definately help us finish with a top 5 class.
