Bad Start

Good Counsel High School, where Michigan got Blake Countess last year, has it's own Twitter page for its football team. Why is this relevant?

"#GC's Stefon #Diggs has dominated camps in the past and will look to do the same against a talented group of defensive backs this weekend."

At least three of the top Good Counsel prospects were scheduled to visit Michigan today for the spring game, but if Diggs is at camp this weekend, I doubt the others will visit. Bad start to the day.

  1. It's all good in my book. Can not win all battles. Here's for a exciting day, bad weather or not, no injuries, mainly to the DB's. Hope for a great showing and impression to the attending recruits.

Joe Bolden, hope you will be watching the game on the BT Network & realize how easy your choice should be. !

  5. It was cold at the game, but besides that enjoyed the new coaching stuff and Denard still RUNS the ball!

I felt Deven can play better QB than Denard just from the spring game....hopefully Denard can learn the pro style fast!

  6. This is Will by the way. Don't mind the SN. Ok recap: On the first play Denard took it about 75 yards on a big run. Then the second series Michael Cox had about a 70-yard run for a touchdown. The starters on defense were, from left to right: Jibreel Black, Will Campbell, Mike Martin, and Craig Roh on the line. Thomas and Cam Gordon at OLB and Marell Evans at MLB. Carvin Johnson at FS, Kovacs at SS, and Avery and Tony Anderson at the Corners. The defense played really well today making a lot of good stops on run plays. And Marell Evans and Carvin Johnson both had a pick. Jake Ryan had a couple QB hurries, a stop in the backfield and a pick-6. Greg Brown played well, he was in on I believe the 3rd string defense, he had one tackle but played a solid game. There was I believe 3 fumbled snaps, two by Denard and one by Devin Gardner. Denard and Devin also threw a lot of bad passes I don't think they completed more than 50% of their passes. Nothing to worry about tho, it is the spring. Just about everybody got to play, and got good playing time. I think this year there will be some walk-ons that compete for playing time. Overall I thought the defense was the stand-out of the game they played well better than expected. Also I thought Marell Evans played well, he was in on a lot of tackles and had a pick.
By the way, Benji, do you get FSC? AC Milan plays at 2:30 Eastern Time

  9. Ricardo played quite a bit with both the 2s and 3s. I didn't see nor recall hearing Cullen's name at all. Maybe he is nicked up...

Pretty bummed about the Good Counsel boys not coming. Wes could have seen the need for a RB and Stefon could have seen that one Stonum, Hemingway and Odoms leaves, there isn't much left at WR. He could start as a freshman.

I liked the way Devin played, he out played Denard. QB competition in AA?

  15. If we take 3 or 4 LB's in this class seems like we might be switching to a 3-4 defense in the near future
