Scout.com has released their initial rankings for the class of 2012, with 33 five star players, 217 four star players, and 50 three star guys making up the top 300. Check out the list here.
I must say, the rankings look very positive for Michigan, maybe a top 10 is possible on scout? Here's some rankings for the players of interest.
- #6 Noah Spence (Five Star, #1 DE)
- #16 Stefon Diggs (Five Star, #2 Safety????) - thought he was a projected WR.
- #25 Zeke Pike (Five Star, #3 QB)
- #28 Brionte Dunn (Five Star, #4 RB)
- #40 Jordan Diamond (Four Star, #9 OT)
- #45 Zach Banner (Four Star, #11 OT)
- #64 Sheldon Day (Four Star, #9 DT)
- #65 Greg Garmon (Four Star, #11 RB)
- #72 James Ross (Four Star, #2 MLB)

- #84 Aaron Burbridge (Four Star, #11 WR)
- #105 Royce Jenkins-Stone (Four Star, #7 OLB)
- #112 Chris Wormley (Four Star, #13 DE) - thought he'd be higher.
- #131 Dan O'Brien (Four Star, #14 DT)
- #137 Ron Thompson (Four Star, #5 TE) - surprised he's this high.
- #139 Terry Richardson (Four Star, #8 CB)
- #146 Devin Funchess (Four Star, #6 TE)
- #151 Jarrod Wilson (Four Star, #10 Safety)

There's probably quite a few guys I've missed out, so make sure you check out the rankings, but those are the main guys you should be interested in.
Go Blue!
ReplyDeleteI think we will land 2 5*'s
ReplyDelete#6 Noah Spence (Five Star, #1 DE)
#16 Stefon Diggs (Five Star, #2 Safety)
Landing Zeke does not look realistic with Devin being in the roster.
Man i am excited bout 2011 season!
Out of those five stars, I'd probably say Zeke Pike is the most realistic target. He's visited (and loved it), and I think he truly believes he can transition Michigan to a pro style offense.
ReplyDeleteDiggs is visiting soon, so we'll have to wait and see on him, and I'd be happy just to get a visit from Spence.
Do you see Corey Smith picking up an offer? Jarrod Wilson would be great to have at safety, but I remember hearing that they were a package deal.
ReplyDeleteI heard that Spence is visiting in Summer and Diggs really likes Michigan... I hope we land and 3 then..
ReplyDeleteBenji, Who do you think is a better fit for Micigan's offence Kiel or Pike? And which one do they have a better chance of getting? And thanks for keeping us up to date on the recruiting.
ReplyDeleteHow is the #2 MLB a four star??
ReplyDeleteJer89, Michigan definitely has a better chance with Zeke Pike, we might even be his leader after his visit last week. As for who suits better, its hard to say, both are considered pocket passers with decent mobility.
ReplyDeleteWorm: I guess its just not a good year for MLB's? It seems like offensive tackles are dominating this list; Zach Banner is #45 overall yet only the #11 OT???
There is an ongoing rumour that Pike is in discussion with DBG about a "possible" package deal towards AA.......
ReplyDeleteMaize please don't yank my chain like that....
ReplyDeleteRumor huh ? Link to this rumor. If you have nothing to support this so called rumor, don't post such. Sorry, just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteI also heard this because the two are apparently texting and talking back and forth. They have also talked about combining their talents on the same team and one of the top teams for both just happens to be Michigan. Yes DGB hasnt been here yet but he has been talking about coming up here. If the two continue the talks they have been having this could maybe just maybe happen.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you hearing all this from?
ReplyDeleteThey are friends and have talked about Michigan. However they are hardly a package deal, and Green-Beckham probably has at least a handful of schools above Michigan on his list right now.
ReplyDeleteUnless a visit gets set up this spring/summer, just forget about DGB.
@Benjimichigan
ReplyDeleteBrionte Dunn visited a couple weeks ago. I never did hear anything about his visit. Whats the outlook on him for Mich.?
I'm pretty sure he hasn't visited yet. I think a couple weeks ago was when he announced he would visit Michigan sometime this spring. Once he does visit, we'll have a much better outlook of where things stand for him. As of right now, we have to consider him an OSU commitment.
ReplyDeleteCould diggs be a two way player?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is nice to see Michigan back on the list for top players in the country.
ReplyDeleteHopefully that turns into some nice recruiting classes.
GO BLUE!!!!
And does anyone have info on jihad rasheed, fourth time or high-school stats?
ReplyDeleteForty*
ReplyDeleteBoy I would love to get Noah Spence but I just dont see it happening. I do think we really need to get Diggs in this class. We REALLY need a stud wideout in this class.
ReplyDeletewill michigan recruit allen gant? hes woodson's cousin i believe and his dad playd for bo (could b lloyd).
ReplyDeleteI think Allen Gant will get an offer when he camps at Michigan in the summer.
ReplyDeleteDoes Bam Bradley have grade problems or something? I'm surprised at UM's lack of effort towards him.
ReplyDeleteThink he might have academic issues, not 100% sure on that though.
ReplyDelete@D-rich Jihad Rasheed runs a 4.4 forty. He also had a big nice run in practice for a touchdown His highlight tape is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naMgPNcYTz4
ReplyDeleteAH thank you very much will, he needs to out on some weight and he could be a game changer
ReplyDelete... I thought it was a joke " the next Barry sanders" greaaaaaaaat change of direction moves east and west a lot like sanders
ReplyDeleteHey Benji have you thought about having a recruiting "roundtable" or a live chat?
ReplyDeleteYeah that would be awesome worm, if its to much of a hassle you could always just embed a pre made one
ReplyDeleteI think it could work. There seems to be a few people on here that follow recruiting a lot and know the game pretty well. It would be fun if it didnt get so big that questions arent getting answered lol
ReplyDeleteIt can be made with different chat rooms sorry to sound so 90s but that would work very well imo
ReplyDeleteI'm game if Benji and some other followers are. I think I know Michigan and recruiting pretty well, not like Benji but enough to have a round table or live chat. Hell I live in southern Ohio,I NEVER get to talk Michigan football with other fans, lol
ReplyDeleteAh I see, I live right in the heart of maize and blue country. Use to go to goto school with justice Hayes and mark ingrahm
ReplyDeleteIf someone can email me with exactly how to set up a live chat, then yeah I'm willing to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteD-Rich, I went to school with Justice and Mark haha But I love Michigan Football!! I can never get enough and now that I go to school school here, my friends, a TE and RB, let me watch practice film with them. Schofield is looking really good and everything they are saying about Big Will is true, he looks great! I'm really liking Marvin Robinson too. And, Demens is about to have a huge year...Ray Lewis like...
ReplyDeleteNo way dude what year did you graduate?
ReplyDeleteBenji.... try this http://ebiznet2u.com/embed-instant-messaging-into-your-website-and-blog-23/ lol
ReplyDelete2010, I'm a Freshman at UofM this year.
ReplyDeleteSame here but only went to gb for my freshman year and for part of Jr year then went to flushing. Do you know Dre rowels?
ReplyDeleteNo I don't. Do you know Tony Jones that plays for Northwestern? I played baseball for GB so I went up to Flushing a few times. But yea I'm so happy that J-Hayes is coming to Mich rather than ND.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't know him either lol, yeah I
ReplyDeletem excited for j hazey, I still live in gb, in neighborhood behind kroger haha
haha no way!! yea I know a lot of people that live in there! Really close to GBHS, I guess a linebacker for GB is lookin' good, Lester Listen, and a RB from Alabama that just moved here has a college future as well.
ReplyDeleteYeah I heard about the kid from bama, I guess he's kind of undersized. Needs to hit the weights asap
ReplyDeleteyea he could be a game changer. I thought having said he's the next barry sanders, I thought oh boy, these guys really don't know football but he does look a lot like him.
ReplyDeleteIf like to are him on kick returns
ReplyDeleteWow...*I'd like to see
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! Go blue!
ReplyDeletep.s I also graduated from Grand Blanc in 2003
Jesus we just have the entire gb community on here lol
