If you know who Gunner Kiel is, you're probably already excited.
Five star QB Gunner Kiel visited Michigan today according to Scout.com's Allen Trieu, who announced it on Twitter a few minutes ago.
After losing out on Zeke Pike, who'd have thought Michigan has a shot at an even better QB. If you look at the right hand side of the blog, check out the 'MGoRecruit 5* Prospect Policy'.
Now that Kiel has visited, we can finally talk about Michigan's chances.
Right now I'd still say UM's chances aren't great, but a visit was a good first step, and who knows, if it blew him away Michigan might get another visit. We'll have to wait for his visit reaction first...
His visit might not amount to anything but it is an endorsement that other recruits could take notice of whether he commits or not.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the chances of a second visit?
ReplyDeleteI do have to say this weather he goes to Michigan or not he at lease took the time to visit. After that it is what it is. Your either a Michigan man or not. But he did come for a visit and thats all us Michigan fans can ask.
ReplyDeleteYes please! Not to change the topic but has anyone else read the nice article in The Latern a Ohio State student news paper? If not go read and laugh at how awful Ohio State feels about the train they see coming!
ReplyDeleteHey Benji, just to get off subject for a brief moment.. How did you enjoy Lio Messi's performance at the BernabeU ?.. Does not bother me to say it, they will take care of business at Wembley against Man U , Rooney & El Chicarito..
ReplyDeleteBlaugranas !!!!
I'll be rooting for Barcelona when they get to Wembley, although I'd wish they'd stop diving around all the time.
ReplyDeletehey benji, I am a big time Michigan fan, and after researching Gunner Kiel, he seems to be a strong fit to replace Denard Robinson and play for Coach Hoke. On ESPN.com it said that Michigan was in Gunner's fab four schools, along with Indiana, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame. Michigan was first on the list, do u think that Gunner will pick the Maize and Blue?
ReplyDeleteUM was first on the list because that was his most recent school visit. Espn did not give a 1-4 Ranking.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks, do u think he will commit to the wolverines?
ReplyDelete@ 3aeb... It would be a long shot. But anything can happen, still got 9 months to go before nsd. Kiel from what I have read, is low key, doesn't say much about what his early favorites are. As you can see he showed up on campus without making it public until Trieu twitted the news.
ReplyDeleteI would say Oklahoma is the early leader in my opinion. Landry Jones will be gone after his junior year. We got long ways to go though. We will see.
It's difficult to say if he's thinking Blue or not. Every school that offered him has offered 10 others. Oregon and USC offered him but there's a Washington and California qb in the top 10 as well that might likely commit first. Aubrun and Alabama offered but Aubrun already got theirs and there's a 5 star Alabama born qb in the top 5. ND would like him but their coach is very much a spread offense guy and Maty Mauk might sign up and claim that spot. Florida will probably end up with a Florida qb unless they want Kiel and no-one else. LSU offered but he Kiel may very well want to stay in the region and go Oklahoma or Michigan. Next years class has a qb lined up who may or may not be "the future" for Michigan who Hoke already offered named Shane Morris. Kiel would be great to have but a starting quality qb isn't really needed this year.
ReplyDeleteKiel is legit! it would be great for Michigan to get him, but it is a long shot, I think he's notre dame bound. but even if we don't get a qb this year, we still have Shane morris next year. I think Michigans main goal is to get Shane morris. they still have gardner and the kid from texas. we need a qb, but we won't need one super bad til next year. Shane morris or Gunner FTW!
