- Pennsylvania RB Greg Garmon has surprisingly named Michigan in his top three schools along with North Carolina and Penn State. Garmon is a four star RB, and the second highest one left on Michigan's board behind Brionte Dunn. Both of these guys will visit Michigan this spring/summer.
- Scout.com only released their prospect rankings recently, but there are already some major changes. Royce Jenkins-Stone is now listed as the #2 MLB in the nation, ahead of #3 MLB James Ross! This is pretty surprising, as most people seem to consider Ross the better overall prospect.
RJS has stolen Ross' overall rankings of #72, and Ross has now slipped to #115, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be honest. For the record, UM is recruiting Ross as an OLB, and RJS as a MLB.
In state DT Dan O'Brien moves up 32 places to #99; not sure what he did to earn that, but whatever. Terry Richardson dropped a few places overall.
- I probably don't have to remind you, but the Zeke Pike announcement is at 2:15pm ET today; he'll be announcing at his high school. Since the last post about this, numerous recruiting analysts have said they expect Auburn to be the choice, so please don't get your hopes up.
Never did get my hopes up. With recruiting, a lot of times the last visit leaves the most impression on a recruit. Had he visits AA this past weekend things maybe different.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to him where ever he decides to commit.
So he's the #2 MLB but only a 4* what's up with that? They should be bumping that up.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess it's just a bad year for MLB's. The top 50 earn a 5th star on the final scout rankings, so with a great senior year he could push for another star.
ReplyDeleteSeems like linemen are our biggest need anyway. I'd love to see us get some good talent there, expecialy on the d side. Other than that I want a bad ass rb, I like the ones we got but none of them seem to be that guy in a power offense. Hope I'm wrong though.
ReplyDeleteJust read he has an Auburn shirt on under his football jersey.... if that's true, sad day for us.
ReplyDeletebut it's his gf facebook page so we never know whats gonna happen to him
ReplyDeleteAnd he's not the end-all-be-all! If he goes somewhere else.... someone else will take his place here. I don't want anyone playing for Michigan that doesn't love Michigan! Don't need them, don't want them! GO BLUE!
ReplyDeleteAnother pay to play scam
ReplyDeleteIf the check clears..... he's going to Auburn! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLol, didn't his Dad play 12 years in the NFL? I know he wasn't a great player or anything, but I doubt Zeke is that short on cash...
ReplyDeleteYeah his dad is Mike and he played at Georgia Tech... I think, before the NFL
ReplyDeleteSo Benji, what your saying is he prob got all the tattoos he needs??? HAHA!
Mark.... not mike sorry
ReplyDeleteDon't matter anyway qb is such a hit or miss position, as to wether their goin to succed. I'm cofident no matter what happens where goin to get enough talent either way! GO BLUE!
ReplyDeleteI'd just like to remind everyone that the best linebacker in this years draft Von Miller was a 3 star prospect out of high school and Tom Brady almost went undrafted and was benched while at Michigan. The kids these coaches bring in will be looking for that Tom Brady/Von Miller spark of fanatical enthusiasm more than Jadaveon Clowney/Jamarcus Russel hype. They'll take a 3 star and make him an All American. It's what they do.
ReplyDeleteVery well said Michael. In your opinion is there a sleeper recruit in 2011/2012 class or already on the team who will achieve at a Tom Brady/Von Miller level?
ReplyDeleteZeke Pike picks Auburn :(
ReplyDeleteI'm not a genius, but why would you choose to start your adulthood by going to aprogram that is surely going to be under heavy investigation. Maybe Zeke doesn't like bowl games
ReplyDeleteYup.... Auburn check must have cleared the bank!
ReplyDeletehe will regret it down the line. Atleast for most of the recruiting the kid had class and wanted an education with Michigan, but in the end the scum SEC won him over with an ATM PIN #.
ReplyDeletewell it is all good...I hope it is a good thing....like Pryor not picking Michigan!
ReplyDeleteI don't get his pick either! The hammer is gonna fall on Auburn. If he doesn't want a top tear education and be a part of the greatest tradition in sports history... fine! Now that he's SEC, he's gonna have to have a rap sheet! I'm going with disorderly conduct for his first offence.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Hoke has his eye on a few others... so no worries! GO BLUE!
He's going to get destroyed playing SEC defenses.
ReplyDeleteLol good pick Zeke mark my words this kid will be a huge bust at auburn ... shoulda chose the other blue, and this ain't me hating either its the truth.
ReplyDeleteI said the same thing about the investagtion acouple of days ago.He is not the be all end all of recruits and if you are not Michigan good luck to you and bring in someone that wants to be the next great Michigan QB. I am sure Hoke have a plan. Go Blue
ReplyDeleteI told my gf to wear her lucky Victoria secret michigan jersey (she wore it every game they won and was not with me on the games they lost...very lucky jersey) she didn't weariedat and we lost pike and when I told her its her fault he didn't commit to us, she said "so that just proves that he is stupid and that we shouldn't have even recruited him, because its he was all about education prior to going to monopoly land, its ok auburn will get in trouble... do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars." Mrs. d rich 1....d rich 0
ReplyDeleteIf we were to take a QB this year, which we probaley will, I would love Gunner Kiel, the kid is a stud. If not him them Brian Blackburn. Anyody but Mauk, his film is terrible. Then Shane Morris in '13and we are set.
ReplyDeleteD-rich where can I find a Victoria secert Michigan Jersey?
ReplyDeleteKiel would be a great pick up but I have heard he is a ND lean? I would like to see more video of Blackburn.
ReplyDeleteQuarterbacks are pretty much in the drivers seat as far as recruiting goes because there are only so many spots for them. With Pike off the boards what happens if your teams 7th and 8th options both say "Yes" while your first is dragging his feet? The next few weeks could be interesting now that the few qb vacancies are filling up.
ReplyDeleteI think to top recruits are making there coomits alittle early because some of the lower recruits commiting early. like RJS did.
ReplyDeleteZeke Pike commits to Auburn as exspected. Oh well, plenty of good QBs still out there.
ReplyDeleteBenji, Do we have a good chance for Garmon? And can Michigan be the last stop on his recruiting trip that seems to be how the recruiting is going.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, D-Rich...
ReplyDeleteif that lucky jersey was present at every Michigan win last season, then on behalf of the entire UM fanbase I urge you to make sure she wears it every darn Saturday this year WITHOUT fail!
Jer89, I don't think we are Garmon's favorite right now, but its nice to see that we're well in the running. I'm not sure when he'll be visiting, hopefully its soon.
LOL jer, I nought a bunch of michigan tthings for her off of Victoria secret .com...her dad went to Penn state so she naturally grew up watching psu, then I came into the picture and showed her that we are naturally a better school and athletic program. She didnt care.... but she loves our colors so now she's a wolverine fan( BTW she called mouton ending the ot game versus Illinois) but any how VS.com has loads of girl michigan apparel. She loved everything I got her. because its michigan, but with a girlish VS twist. She watches the games to humor me and during the psu UofM game she cheered against her old man. And Benji I try to get her to watch every game but it always comes with a deal of aome sort usually me spending money or making dinner which is ok with me, expect more wins now that we have season tickets that we split with her dad and dads gf. They get half of the games and we get half.( she gets kind of angry that I'm always on my phone reading the blog lol... but she says expect rawls to start...big surprise... and roundtree to top his numbers from last year and justice Hayes takes one to the house on a kick/ punt against ND)
ReplyDeleteHaha, Justice Hayes to score against Notre Dame would be brilliant.
