Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of you, and a happy new year too! Thank you for reading this blog, and commenting on posts etc, I really do appreciate it.

I won't have internet access for my laptop over the next few days, so I won't be able to post anything. I doubt any big recruiting news will happen, but just in case you can follow me on Twitter here, where I'll be able to tweet from my phone!

Happy Holidays!

  4. Benji,

You have a merry Christmas, also.
I grew up right next door to Michigan Stadium many, many years ago.
Sneaking into the stadium all through the 60s to play football on the field are some of the best memories of my youth.
Your insight and information has helped me reconnect to the recruiting picture at UM.

    Thanks & Go Blue!

  5. Just got all of Santa's presents under the tree. Decided to check in and wish everyone a very merry Christmas and Benji had already set up a nice spot for me to do it :) Thank you for all you do. I truly appreciate it and know that so many others do as well. I actually think this site may be my addiction.
God's blessings on everyone's travels. Have a wonderful Christmas! Can't wait to bring in the new year with the sweet taste of sugar!

  6. Merry Christmas! It isn't a white Christmas, but BLUE, that we're all wishing for this year! On a side note: how about those Lions?!

  7. Merry Christmas to all, M will win the Sugar Bowl.

And yes Justin, how about them Lions, they are a dangerous team and can win it all, they have the key components to do so.

On an earlier thread you mentioned being in Afghanistan and I just want to thank you for your service and hope you stay safe and come home soon, after the job is done of course, I hate stupid politicians who don't know what they're doing and meddle with what you guys are trying to accomplish, if you know what I mean.

  13. I got 3 and Out, I Wore 21 and What It Means to be a Wolverine from my wife today (she even used Michigan wrapping paper and put them under my Michigan tree). It was an exciting morning. I think I'm going to start with 3 and Out.

  14. Merry Christmas everyone............working the night shift tonight (I hope everyone behaves out there).
Got a couple of great "M" Gifts from the family. Wife had a picture of us and our 4 girls in our "M" gear, taken after the game down against the rail with the band on the field turned into a 16 x 20 framed canvas print. My 14 year old made me a collage poster of the Big House surrounded by various Denard pics. Love my family. You all take care and have an safe and happy holiday.

3 and out is simply a book about why rich rod thought he never stood a chance to succeed at Michigan. He pretty much blames the alumnist, ex coaches, and administration. As if that group has some vested interest in seeing he and or team fail. Really it is good reading for r-rod fan...but you will get tired of the "whining".

  16. I just read on twitter that kalis has been working out with a former pro offensive lineman and he says kalis is built like a collegiate sophmore

    ReplyDelete
  17. Merry christmas yall... Well I already knew what my gift was, Sugar bowl tickets, but did get a nice t shirt for the game.

    GO BLUE!

  18. @zach.bird

the NFL linemen is former pro bowler LaCharles Bentley so this is high praise. I really think we have struck gold with Kalis and think he will be a 3 year starter and future 1st round draft pick.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, my girlfriend got me a nice addidas Coaches polo. Can't wait to wear it next week!

  19. A pair of Notre Dame commits have reaffirmed their commitment to Notre Dame after taking a step back to visit other schools.

This could play well for Michigan seeing as Yuri Wright was pretty impressed with his ND visit. He might not want to go to ND seeing as they have 2 stud CB's in this years recruiting class.

This also might play well for Michigan with Jordan Payton who might not want to go to ND who already has 2 stud WR's in this years class.

you don't think kalis will get to start next year? I think he has a good chance to say the least. The four players I think that could start right away are bolden, wormley, pipkins and kalis(not including the wrs).
will michigan take another wr? im not so sure about that

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think the only WR that UM will take now is Diggs or DGB and I am going to hold my breathe on either one of these guys.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @zach.bird

when i say 3 year starter i meant that he could possibly jump to the NFL after his junior season. I think he will step right in and start as a true freshman.

    @jer89
you are probably going to pass out from lack of oxygen. I think you meant you *arent going to hold your breathe haha

  23. Thank you. I hate commenting from my phone.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What the ....ck ? DGB ? Since when has UM been in the DGB sweepstakes ?. Holy shit... some of the comments posted on this board.

    ReplyDelete
  25. UM has no Chance at DGB. I was just saying that UM will not take another WR unless its DGB

  26. Gunner Kiel to LSU lol wtf is going on???

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'd like to see a couple more guys on defense

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kiel wants to go where he can get a NC and better competition...

    ReplyDelete
  29. @michiganfan...
Now that's bs lol....he could have got that at Michigan and I won't give the sec the better competition comment! With the addition of Nebraska we are just as good as the sec.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Seriously? Kiel??? Who cares. Im pretty sure everyone on this board thought Kiel was sec bound. We have Shane coming. We don't need Kiel and michigan wasn't going after him hard at all. Calm down people. Also, did anyone in the last 50 top 5's for a michigan class have kiel in.... Aghhhhhhh NO. So why are people complaining. I judy don't get it

    Top 4 for me
    Garnett
    Wright
    Perkins
    Reeves

    ReplyDelete
  31. @michigan1975. I meant more competition and also more national exposure than he would have gotten at Indiana. I don't care we didn't get him with morris coming already. We have other needs. The big ten is coming back.... GO BLUE

    ReplyDelete
  32. As long as he did not go to ND or OSU I don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Kiel wanted to go to a place were the QB depth chart was favorable for him to be able to play early that is why he first choose Iu and then LSU.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I just read on espn that Pharaoh Brown is deciding between oregon, michigan state and nebraska. Here is the link.
    http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/midwest/post?id=1086&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fblog%2fncfrecruiting%2fmidwest%2fpost%3fid%3d1086

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm not too concerned about Kiel either, but wish him the best. If I remember right, Morris was outperforming him and the other 2011 recruits at the summer camps. This seemed like a weak QB year recruiting wise.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anyone follow Magnusson or Garnett on twitter? garnett asked if any other U of M lineman are going to be at the Army game, and he said Kalis... also stated back to Garnett to represent with the michigan lineman at the Under Armour game to which Josh told him "no problem big boy ;)" encouraging to say the least. As far as Brown goes, its dissapointing, but at least we can say we stick to our guns... would love to have him, but he made the choice. hope he goes to Oregon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 247sports.com is reporting that OSU, Auburn, and iowa are the finalist for Alex Kozan who could announce jan 3rd. I think this is good and leaves room for Garnett who many think is leaning UM.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Josh Garnett to AA looks very promising and with ND having those two DBs, I think Yuri Wright is Blue for sure. Listening to Sam Webb, Armani Reeves seems like a very probable pick up as well. Sam Grant seems likely as well. That sounds like a stellar Final Four to close this class with. I would give up the TE for Stefon Diggs and even Jordan Payton, WR is a huge need.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would love to keep Kozan in UMs back pocket. But if UM is not in his final 3 that tells me UM has a better Chance with Garnett then I thought. If UM finished with Garnett, Wright,Reeves and Grant I would be very happy. Go Blue

  40. Hey guys, I am the user formally known as Mark. If you want even more recruiting news come visit http://thisismichiganfootball.blogspot.com/?m=0 we've got daily recruiting updates, film analysis of 2013 prospects, and we have some interviews with some top propspects coming soon, we would love to have you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Gobluegr/Mark. Checking it out now. Hopefully I will be able to add it to the rotation w/ this fine site we all love so dearly! As for the recruits, I also would prefer Payton or, wishful thinking, Diggs over another TE. But as long as Garnett and Wright are in the last 4, I am happy.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Probably means nothing but funny to see Josh Garnett apparently tweeting that Slippery Rock is his 4th choice. That's a little funny and surprising that he would know what Slippery Rock is.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @gobluenorth He did go to a homegame, and as we all know they always announce that score. Also he and Magnusson tweeted back in forth in jest to play for Slippery rock. But I think it might just be another hint as to where he is leaning.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Jer89 I agree and would be THRILLED with that final 4.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So arnett has been released from ten. Is he going to mich st. OR Mich? Which one is closer to saginaw?

    ReplyDelete
  46. They are about the same distance...2ish hours. I really like Arnett and he has great speed. Maybe we only take Yuri Wright rather than both he and Armani if Coach Hoke likes DeAnthony. This will be interesting.
