- Now that Brionte Dunn is off the board, Michigan has gone after David Perkins (South Bend, IN). He's originally from Michigan, but moved to South Bend and ended up as a Notre Dame commit. He decommitted from the Irish and is looking around. Michigan is now in the running to get an official visit, which is obviously vital as they are playing catch up to a bunch of other schools. Perkins is considered a linebacker by most, but Michigan wants him as a running back.
- Armani Reeves had an in home visit with Michigan coaches this week, and Sam Webb continues to say that Michigan is in a good position. He'll set up a visit soon which could seal things for UM.
- Everyone keeps asking about Josh Garnett, so I'll say this: I think Alex Kozan is a much more likely option. Whilst Garnett rated his Michigan visit very highly, I think he'll end up closer to home at somewhere like Stanford or Washington. Maybe Stanford because of his academic focus.
Kozan
ReplyDeleteChesson
Reeves
Wright
Grant or Perkins(?)
I foresee this:
ReplyDeleteKozan
Chesson (or Payton)
Wright
Reeves
Grant
it would be nice to pick up perkins, but we're so far behind other schools. maybe we could lure him with the prospect of being a big ten running back, but MSU has already done that. plus next year, I'd take Deveon Smith and Ty Isaac over about anyone. including Brionte Dunn
Why is everyone so confident that we land Wright? I have always thought he was a Rutgers lean and now ND is making a very big push with him and has made up A LOT of ground on him and his teammate Elijah Shumate. They will both be visiting ND this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOn Payton, it sounds like he is down to 2 with Cal and ND and I think he is a heavy Cal lean.
In terms of Perkins, he is a great athlete. From what Ive heard from his ND decommittment, it was more than mutual. Sounds like his grades didnt exactly cut it and he had some serious attitude issues on the field this year (he apparently punched a player in a game this year and was suspended)
Just a thought - Since coach Todd Graham left for ASU, wouldn't it at least be worth a call to see if 4-star Pitt RB,Rushell Shell is reconsidering. Again, just a thought.
ReplyDeleteAre we in any position to get any big name recievres, it wud help denard a to next year.
ReplyDelete@Gotwins I agree with you i think Yuri is a long shot for us. Crazier things have happened, but I dont see him going blue.
ReplyDeleted.hart transfer from Bama?
ReplyDeleteI just dont get ND... they have not been relevant in years and South Bend is a dump. SMH. as for Shell I think the guy has like 2 kids and another on the way. And this isnt BYU. Alot can happen within the time frame inbetween here and Feb, but if you follow some of these guys on twitter, its like the flavor of the month club.
ReplyDeleteCould someone enlighten me as to what im missing on ND? I mean I had to work in that town for 3 weeks and let me just say I was not impressed in the least bit. Tradition? conference play? NFL opportunity? I just dont get it. Kelly has been a head case, they havent really made any kind of consistency over the course of a season in forever, and not a huge amount of their guys are going to the NFL? With all the talk about what Urban Meyer must say to kids to get them to commit, can the same be said for Brian Kelly? or is it just the University? IS that why its Urban Meyers dream job? I have no fricken clue.
Garnett would be big for us, but where has our recruiting confidence gone? I thought Mattison was the "closer" here... He should be able to walk into Yuri Wrights crib, play his NFL coordinator flute for his family and walk out of there with a Verbal...
In the words of Vince Lombardi, "What the hell is goin on around here!?"
People think Yuri Wright is a lock to go to Michigan because he has stated SEVERAL times that he grew up a Michigan fan and that the University of Michigan is his DREAM SCHOOL. Saying comments like that make me feel pretty good that we can land him.
ReplyDeleteRight On C-Note I agree its time to turn up the heat a lil bit lol
ReplyDeleteI think the final 5
ReplyDelete1.One of the T.E. prospects Particularly Grant
2.Wright
3.Chesson is a lock in my opinion
4.Garnet is 50/50 in my opinion
5.Reeves
On a side note, anyone else see that Mattison made a visit to Pharoah Brown? I really want this kid back in this class. I hope the can make amends. I truly think he wants to be in A2
ReplyDeleteIf Mattison visited Brown that is a good thing. I really liked the idea of him at the TE pos. Go after Wright and Reeves hard... Chesson or Payton id take... Go after this Perkins kid and leave a slot open at the end for Garnett. If you dont get him, so be it... But its there for him... Oline has been addressed wonderfully in this class, and it wouldnt hurt us too bad if we didnt get him. But if we did... just look at this tape..
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izUPI7j16wE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
either way I think things are going to heat up here in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
C-Note,
ReplyDeleteNobody gets why ND is still getting good recruits. What we need to do is invite one of UM commits that visited ND and ask him what kids see in that place. I mean come on Steve Elmer committed after one visit. I got it. Its a jedi mind trick! This is the school you want.
With Wright well we have been talking about him for months and not much was happen. And for good reason his team won the state championship. Now he can focus on recruiting. We just need to be alittle more patient.
P. Brown I would like for UM to give him another chance. But if the coaches go another way I understand and have faith in what they are going.
As or the final 5. I know who I want but not so sure on who UM gets. And to tell you the truth I am getting alittle tired of quess. So I believe the coaches will bring in the talent to get the job done.
Tom Luginbill, of ESPN, just talked about Aziz Shittu and said that he is taking a visit to USC soon but is still very high on Michigan...interesting!!
ReplyDeletesam Webb just tweeted the Mattison visiting Brown rumor was false.. =(
ReplyDeleteMy christmas list...
ReplyDelete1.Diggs/Green-Beckham
2.Garnett
3.Wright
4.Reeves
5.A legit TE
C-Note:
ReplyDeleteIt used to be hard for me to understand ND as well until I took a walk through there campus on a fall day; the campus itself is really very pretty. South Bend is a sh*t hole but ND is pretty nice.
I think they recruit well because of a few things:
-Tradition
-The Notre Dame "brand"
-Every home game and a good chunk of away games are nationally televised
-Academics (they once again were #1 in grad rates)
-Facilities
-Brian Kelly and his staff are actually very savvy recruiters (but cant say the same for their coaching abilities)
-Skylar Diggins goes to school there
If Michigan truly is Yuri's dream school, why hasnt he committed yet? If that was such a big factor in his recruiting, dont you think he would have pulled the trigger by now? I have heard plenty of recruits say they grew up cheering for a school or always saw themselves playing for a school, but it doesnt always mean they end up there.
Jer89
ReplyDeleteI agree with your summation of the final 5. I'll go further and say that I don't think we'll necessarily land 5 rock stars.
I think we can and should bring Brown back into the fold. We didn't "save" a spot for him but we haven't filled it yet either.
The only recruit that I'm more than 50% confident about is Chesson. I know......I'm so negative. Unfortunately just about all of us love Michigan more than many of these recruits do. I think we'd all commit today and tell Meyer, Dantonio and whoever else to piss off!!!
I know the coaches will bring in contributors..................no worries
Twins,
ReplyDeleteI get the campus part... I have no disagreement there. Its a really nice campus. But once you leave it, wow.. NOTHING.
I did not know the academics thats a excellent point. But then again with really NOTHING else to do, why wouldnt they graduate more?
National Television. If you ask me, if you have a TV, you have watched them STINK the lately.
Skylar Diggins? Im going to have to google this name... Actually ill do it while im writing this...
Ahhhhh yes I see... a freshman has a shot at that.. LOL!
I couldnt agree more with your assessment on Wright, and I can only hope that he is just wanting to see the country for free while he has this opportunity.
Final 5? who the heck knows.. everytime I turn around Sam Webb or Tom VH is tweeting about a person we dropped in to visit for this 2012 class.. its crazy.
ND already has 2 stud CB's in this class. Rutgers is only in the convo out of respect for the hometown school (see Diggs and how long he kept Rutgers on his list). UM is the leader.
ReplyDeleteOh lord...............here comes the Aziz Shittu talk again. Hey guys, I heard Shaq Thompson is still interested in UM too!
@oubobcat20 really? I heard that Shaq O'Neal was interested. Will be hard to wrestle him away from Suburban...
ReplyDeleteJust my thoughts... I dont think we land any more than one more 4 star recruit. I just dont have a good feeling about these kids left! But im not worried. We have already secured a top 10 recruiting class and off to a quick start in 2013... With Fitz having i think two years left and our defense being young. We are in great shape!
ReplyDeleteAgreed Hail-to-the Victors.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note Kalis has told Meyer to back off.
“Urban and the staff were recruiting me hard for a while but I have recently told them to back off some because I am firm with my commitment to Michigan,” Kalis said. “This trip just made me want to be at Michigan even sooner. I really got know some of my future teammates and my host Jack Miller showed me a great time.”
From an interview for 247 Sports found on MGoBlog
Although it was just a rumor, I like the idea of Brown coming back. Didn't he leave because we wanted him as a DE and he wanted to play TE?
ReplyDeleteIf thats true...
WE NEED A TE.
I thought it was the other way around.. I thought he was upset we were moving him to TE... not 100% tho.
ReplyDeleteI cannot fathom why Yuri would go to ND. They have not been a steady program and there are a bunch of questions from quarterback play to coaching. Additionally, they already have two CB commits that are top-fifteen on all the recruiting sites. I too can't quite grasp what makes ND so attractive. It can't be academics, location, or coaching. We tie or beat them in all of those categories. Their academics my be perceived as better than UM's, but they are private and we are public. It's just the fact that private universities are more selective due to status and having a smaller student body. Also, many of these recruits don't put a high value on academics. What exactly is it?
ReplyDeletethe lure of ND is....
ReplyDeleteRUDY
@JimmyJazz:
ReplyDeleteND has signed 2 very good CB recruits already but that is a huge area of need for them. They could easily take 3 more DBs in this class. Yuri would play a lot for them starting day 1.
I think you're right that academics is a wash in terms of value of a Michigan degree vs value of an ND degree, but the difference is grad rates. Its not that Michigan's grad rates are bad (82%), its just that ND's are the best in the nation. It seems like ND really pushes academics and makes it a priority that their players graduate, even the ones who leave early for the draft.
I think the types of recruits that ND and Mich battle over are kids who academics is very important to.
There is also the fact that ND is a small, private catholic school, which is actually very similar to a lot of these kid's high schools (Don Bosco Prep for example). When those recruits visit ND, they feel comfortable and at home. A big, public school may not seem as attractive to some of these kids who have gone to parochial schools their whole life.
Well, Diamonds out........
ReplyDeleteJordan Diamond @Jordan76simeon 27m
I have no order to my list... First school is The Ohio St University
Speaking about ND. They just picked up 4 star OL Ronnie Stanley.
ReplyDeleteIf you read his other tweets he says he is going to announce his top 5 and his choices are in no particular order.
ReplyDeleteOH thanks b7. Just saw that tweet and thought he meant he only had 1 team on his list.
ReplyDeleteYou should see all the bucknuts going ape on twitter... Good god what a obnoxious following.
ReplyDeleteSecond school AUBURN? this is starting to sound like a list of employers.. TELL ME USC or Oregon next... Go ahead, I dare you.
ReplyDeleteHOW CAN I START A DISCUSSION????? PLEASE ADVISE. Thank you! For now....thoughts on Noah Spence. I hope I'm wrong. He visit ohio tomorrow. The "dead period" starts Dec 19th, and ends Jan 3rd. He is planning to make announcement at Under Armour game on Jan. 6. To my knowledge, he has no other scheduled visits. Looks like a suckeye to me.
ReplyDeleteThats the rumor. Will most likely happen
ReplyDelete@mrlotty........benji is the only one who can start a discussion
ReplyDeletediamond just announced his 3rd as Arkansas
ReplyDeleteI really think we have a great shot at Yuri. I think some of you have forgot he put Colorado and Michigan as his top 2 and said I will still visit the other schools, after his Colorado visit he made it clear he didn't like it. Really I think that leaves us at the top of his list. I have read up on Perkins and I feel we are about a coin flip from landing him, and I would say we would be lucky if we do. I live in the south bend area, and I would say he is the best player in the area, and little known fact...he would rather be a running back. Chesson is also a coin flip. I don't think our odds are good with Reeves. He is a Penn State commit and is shopping around. He hasn't gave us an official visit, but he has already scheduled others. That makes me think we don't make his top 2 or 3. I still refuse to count him out. I really believe our odds are a lot better with Garrett. Kozan may beat him to the punch though. So my final 5 will go
ReplyDeleteGarrett unless Kozan commits first
Yuri Wright..almost a shoe in
Chesson
Perkins..he is a Michigan native
My last spot will stir the pot it will be either a big time CB we have 2 in the mix or Dee Hart.
I know you all are tired of hearing that "rumor" but i have a friend that lives in Alabama and he convinced me that he is shopping around and is not happy at Alabama.
Diamonds final 5 schools are Wisconsin and UM.
ReplyDeleteSo the top 5 list is:
UM, Wisconsin, Auburn, Arkansas, ohio
@michiganman......okay so noone likes hearing about the dee hart rumors, but if the rumors prove true would he count towards this years class? I was under the impression transfers didn't count. Unless your referring towards the total of 85? Also i believe you are correct on the yuri wright analysis. I still strongly believe he goes blue, especially after the decommitt of standifer. There is an article on espn where reeves explains he is still committed to PSU and the only reason he is taking officials is because he wants to have options if he doesn't like the new coach PSU brings in. IF i remember correctly his final 2 were PSU and UM right? So i believe his commit will depend on who PSU hires and when that happens.
ReplyDeleteLike jer said in another post im tired of posting my best guess list, but i am sure getting anxious and ready to see how this class will fill out. Go Blue!
Go Blue...bendy...i had not heard that reeves put us that high. I still question it, we still haven't got him to commit to a visit date. I realize that we are in contact with him. One major question I have will still be his high school teammate committed to Penn State with him, are they a package deal? I know we can't take another linebacker.
ReplyDeleteHere's some breaking news for all of us....
ReplyDeleteYuri Wright @YuriWright3 1m
I need some pussy tonight man....
These kids realize we can see this, right? lol
According to Sam Webb's article on detnews.com, Reeves has said the only two places he is likely to take a visit to is Michigan and ND.
ReplyDeleteLike Bendy said, he is still committed to PSU, he just wants to see who the coach is. If it takes to long or he doesn't like the hire I think Michigan has a good shot. Of course the way ND inexplicable lands recruits he will probably end up there (or Urban will steal him, because he is the greatest recruiter/liar of all time. Sorry, was the liar thing a bit much?)
@eb when you were 18 years old what was the one thing you were most concerned with? lol cuz for me it was the same subject mr. wright tweeted about. Im just surprised he made it public. Hell maybe girls like that now a days, and at least we know he is getting exercise in the off season lol.
ReplyDelete@michiganman I'm not sure about Reeves but if i do remember correctly his final 2 were UM and PSU, but i could be wrong. Also i don't remember ever hearing about him and his teammate being a package deal either, but i could also be wrong on that. However, Washington and Stanford were suppose to be a package deal and look how well that one worked out....
Well Grubb I would say after landing Dunn there is no doubt the liar part is just fine lol. I cannot see how the kid fits their scheme. I i am kinda glad. Not sure how a kid who runs a 4.6 40 ends up a 5 star recruit.....overrated keeps popping up in my head. I think the kid we got from Ann arbor will be better any way. Runs a 4.3 and looks to me he could build up to be a bruising back.
ReplyDeleteI hope David Perkins' cancellation of his MSU visit was to make room for UM. Apparently, that ohio coach is talking to him as well. He's probably saying that he sees him rushing for a thousand yards and getting a hundred tackles as a true freshman.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you guys think our chancres are of getting Payton or diggs? Is chesson any good? Idk anything about him or perkins
ReplyDelete@jimmyjazz
ReplyDeleteIf Urban Meyer is able to get to Perkins, THEosu HAS to be giving these kids money, or drugging them, or something. They already have about a dozen backs on roster, including Ball and Dunn for the 2012 class.
@drock Not great, I can see Payton staying in California. Diggs looked like a probable commit but not so much anymore. Diggs still may visit Ann Arbor, I hear. Much stuff can change between now and NSD, though.
ReplyDelete@lalondtm You mean tUrban Meyer? The guy is clearly making promises he cannot keep or doing something illegal because it has been made clear that the NCAA is not interested in punishing ohio. It will backfire down the road when there are a bunch of pissed-off backs wondering why they couldn't run for a thousand yards in his spread. In three years it will be: "Okay, we've got to figure out a way to divvy these 15 carries up between the six of you, and be fair about it".
@ jimmyjazz I'm with you. Sorry, but with Meyers track record for offenses, Braxton Miller is going to out-rush any back at THEosu. Period.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say something? I really hope Shane Morris is as good a QB as he is a recruiter for Michigan. All day he's tweeting kids to come to Michigan. Just earlier he was talking to Taco Charlton. Charlton to Morris "our class would be top notch" and "we'll see what happens, and maybe I will be"
Also, shane morris called out Urban Meyer!
"Urban Meyer is kicking this whole Michigan:Ohio rivalry up a notch... But he doesn't know hes going to be recruiting against me! #SecretWeapon"
The dude is awesome
Of course later on he tweets that he hoped nobody was taking his tweets too seriously, but yes he is on twitter all the time talking to these guys.
ReplyDeleteTaco seems to relish the back and forth of the UM TSiO tweets as they are getting heated now. We over Tuley Tillman, and the next day Urban Meyer personally calls him? LOL its bout to get real interesting.
The term "snake oil salesman" comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteIts like Meyer wait til UM offers a kids or visits a kids and the next day its Meyer making a offer or visiting a kid the next day. Meyer is letting UM do his scouting then we swoops in with a offer.
ReplyDeleteGoBlueNorth,
I perfer calling him a used car salemen. It seem to fit him and where he is coaching
Random question, does anyone know if the Sugar Bowl has been sold out yet? I just heard that WVU and Clemson each have to eat $1M in tickets for the Orange Bowl.
ReplyDeleteI know that UM and VT each were given 14,000 tickets to sell. UM sold out and VT was stuck at 9,000 or so and last I read they were trying to get people to buy "proxy" tickets to be given away to service men and women in the New Orleans area so that they could go to the game to fill the stands.
ReplyDeleteVT has only sold roughly half of its 17,500 tickets...
ReplyDeletehttp://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls11/story/_/id/7351557/hot-not-bowl-season
Thats not good for VT. Give the rest to UM to sell.
ReplyDeleteYea it seems like there are only a handful of teams that could sell out any bowl game against any opponent: Mich, ND, OSU, Texas
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind Oklahoma didnt even sell out their BCS tickets last year
@twins...as much as I hate to admit this there are a couple teams in the sec that could make the same claim. Alabama, lsu, Georgia, all sell there tickets.
ReplyDeleteGo to Tickco.com for Sugar Bowl tix. Can get in the nose bleed area for $50. I got lower corner end zone seats for $105. 11 rows back.
ReplyDeleteA recent post on mgoblog says we have a better chance with Garnett than is thought - it says he is down to UM and one other unnamed school. We'll see...
ReplyDeletehttp://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/joshua-garnett-update-good-edit
I know I'm kinda wishing but I think if we get garnett we get banner to from what I read banner had allot to do with garnett taking a official visit to michigan and didn't they want to play together I think they get that they will be one of the best oline in the nation if not the best
ReplyDeleteIdk why these kids flock to meyer like they have. He's going to leave after about 4 years. No titles no 1000 yard rushers and a bunch of mad people. Btw I love Shane morris as our secret weapon
ReplyDeleteThere has been talk about the NCAA making a rule change that would allow schools to have 2 signing days. I believe basketball already has this? I think this would be a great idea. It would help schools lock down some kids and stop other schools from stealing your VC. One problem maybe if there is a coaching change after you commit. I have thought for a long time kids should be able to transfer once without sitting out a year if there is a coaching. Example Ryan Mallet in RR spread. That would have never worked. I think this would really help the coaches. Tell me what you think.
ReplyDeleteHas anybody heard anything about Kaleb Ringer? There are some rumors going around. I hope they are noy true.
ReplyDeleteRecently was in WA on business and Banner was interviewed on a radio station. While he is close to Garnett, this is not a package deal. Both will stay in touch, but in reading between the lines, go to separate schools.
ReplyDeleteI think Banner is a OU lock.
ReplyDeleteKaleb Ringer graduated today.. all over twitter, and he has been Blue friendly for a while now.. what are you hearing?
ReplyDeleteI am sure this is old then but I heard he was kicked on the team at the end of the year. Is he enrolling early?
ReplyDeleteYes, Bolden and Ringer both are enrolling early.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sidenote. I am leaving to go back home to Michigan Saturday and I have to drive thru Ohio on Sunday can everyone pray for me and wish me luck.LOL. I think I am going to roll down the windows and scream GO BLUE all the way thru the state. I may even write on my window how many days its been sence OSU has beat UM.
ReplyDelete@Jer89.... I live here and ruffle feathers all the time. I think they're used to it by now! Anyhow, you would be absolutely astonished by how many UM fans live in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteThat is good to hear. My in-laws live in Akron.
ReplyDeleteI live in ohio too jer..... you will prbly drive right through my town (findlay) on your way back to UM
ReplyDeleteMy inlaws lived in Ohio for a time down by Cincy... Father in laws boss.. HUGE buckeye fan... The dumb stuff I had to hear from that clown. Anyhow. the turnpike has to be the most boring stretch of road this side of I-90 and South Dakota.. I would be intrigued to see how many truck drivers commit suicide on this stretch of road.. Truly Brutal.
ReplyDeleteWatch out for Bolden, I think he is going to be something special.
Bendy. I am taking I-75 thru Ohio.
ReplyDeleteC-Note, I have to agree with you 100% on the Ohio Turnpike. There is a highway in New Mex. that may give that highway a run for there money
When is early enrollment? I agree with you on Bolden as well.
ReplyDeleteI think early enrollment is in Jan.. I know that Kaleb was tweeting how happy he was with the helpfull staff in terms of making his enrollment seamless.
ReplyDeletenever been to New Mexico, but I can imagine. there is a whole lotta nothing out there.
TBH the only thing I really like about Ohio.. is the fact that we get to save some of the poor souls that live there and let them come to the mitten to play ball.. =)
@Jer89
ReplyDeleteI think that'd be fantastic, you should totally get one of those window markers (yellow of course) and write how many days it's been since ohio beat Michigan!
I have a feeling Ringer could be really good on the edge. I love that he is enrolling early, I think he is the least polished of our LB core, so the extra practice time with our coaches will do him wonders. He is extremely athletic, the athlete gene runes thru that family (see javon ringer MSU/Tennessee Titans), so he could definitely pan out.
any hear about Evan Boehm?
ReplyDeletehttp://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=2&c=1136000&ssf=1&RequestedURL=http%3a%2f%2fmichigan.scout.com%2f2%2f1136000.html
http://blogs.ajc.com/recruiting/2011/09/22/rb-kamani-thomas-gets-comparisions-to-alabamas-trent-richardson/
ReplyDeleteI'm going to bring him up again, because nobody seems to mention him.
Kamani Thomas looks like an absolute Mike Hart stud. 5'9 190 lbs as a junior. The article compares him to Trent Richardson, hmmm, I like the sound of that.
Most importantly, he states in the article that he loves Michigan, and if he could commit anywhere, it'd be Michigan, hands down.
@lal im right there with you. We always talk about how we only want kids that truly want to be michigan men, well this kid is one of them and he rarely gets mentioned next to Issac, plus he is drawing comparisons to Richardson. I would love to see them offer him and hopefully get a immediate commitment and then put some pressure on Issac to wrap up the class for RB next year.
ReplyDeleteI think you all are missing out on a great back in our current recruiting class. 3 star Drake Johnson is a beast. I really think they have him way under rated. He is 6' 1" 205 and runs a 4.3 40. The only reason he didn't get offered early was we knew he would commit as soon as he got the offer. I'm telling you this kid will be special.
ReplyDelete@Jer
ReplyDeleteI broke down once in piqua. Here's some friendly adivce: DONT BREAK DOWN IN PIQUA
UM fan right here in Columbus, Ohio. I made a block M pumpkin for halloween and it got smashed on the first night.
ReplyDeleteCombine at the Silverdome today Braylons younger Bro Ran the 40 in 4.35 and 4.39 thats movin. Only problem is that he is only 5'10. Maybe he will add an inch or two. Shane Morris ran it in 4.7
ReplyDelete@jer89 If you are driving to Michigan from Florida you will probably drive with in 200 yards of my front door. I live in Portsmouth,Ohio and I'm sure you will be on US23 which is at the end of my road. US23 isn't that bad but the Ohio speed limits BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone know what Perkins' weight is currently? I see that he's listed at 6-2 and 210lb. most places. However, 247 lists him as 6-3 and 230lb (with a 4.44 forty, which would be crazy). 6-3 is getting a little tall for HB, though.
ReplyDeleteI think we have a shot at Perkins only because we offered him as a running back.
ReplyDelete@Worm if you think Ohio speed limits suck, go over to Indiana.. its worse there.
ReplyDelete@jimmy and @blue. I believe he is 6'2 210, he plays in the area I live in, and everything I have found out about him is he would rather play at running back, I believe they have listed him at linebacker because he plays both sides of the ball and is getting a bit tall for a running back. I still think he can play very well at the position. He prides himself at being hard to bring down, which appears correct because he is averaging 8 yards a carry. Our area has some very good teams, and an 8 yard average is something to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteI am about to drive thru A2. Man I miss Michigan.
ReplyDeletei dont know if you guys know this but were in Garnetts top 3 with nd, and stanford. I have a good feeling about this kid, and drake johnson will be a great back for michigan. Most underrated athlete in america.
ReplyDelete@zach I completely agree. I feel like if we give Garrett long enough we will get him, but we have other very qualified ol-men that may beat him to the punch. We only have one spot available for an ol-man. I have been raving about drake Johnson. He will be a beast. Big and blazing fast, he has all the tools to be an heisman potential. We put about 20 to 30 pounds on him and he will be unstoppable.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking like we have another commitment watch this week, jehu chesson is announcing.
ReplyDelete@michiganman1975 I wouldn't say 30 pounds cause it would make him slower, 15 pounds Max and he will keep that break away speed
ReplyDeleteBeen following this blog for a long time, I finally decided to post a comment. I'm hopeful we get a couple of commits before the dead period. I'd love to add Chesson and Wright (we really need to build a deep secondary). At that point a TE would be my biggest concern - I wish we'd open the door for Pharoh Brown again, he's just a monster athlete. As far as the O-line is concerned, I'd like to see us bring in an interior lineman, especially someone who could be a future center. I trust Hoke and his staff to do what's best, but I sure wish we would add another big DTackle to this class as well.
ReplyDeleteGo Blue!
Noah Spence to OHIO....
ReplyDeleteWhat the F**k is going on. How did OSU get Noah Spence? Since Urban Meyer has been at OSU he got his 5 star RB to stay. not one but two 5 star DE. One 5 Star DT and for a backup they got MSU's best recruit to be a back up DE as only a 4 star player. I don't believe it they must be back to giving out car's again. This might sound horrible but I hope Michigan cheats and pays players too. Why not? OSU did it for the last 10 years and it worked out good for them. They even got caught and nothing happened... So why not cheat. Auburn Won a national championship with a payed player and know one cares. College football is about who can cheat the most and get away with it or even if you get caught you can just make stuff up and know one cares. I am as frustrated as I can be with college football right now. Not having a playoff and all the cheating that know one cares about is just one big joke. What lesson did OSU learn about cheating? That it is totally worth it and we should probably do more of it. Try not to get caught next time but if we do o well we will just cover it up again.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA I am loving this!!!!! BigTen will be back to Michigan Vs Ohio!!!
ReplyDeleteThey can throw out all those great backs, and great quarterbacks, and great defensive players, throughout the country and in this conference, but there's gonna be one Team that's gonna play solely as a Team. - Bo
GO BLUE!!!
Schutt just fell to them. Getting three top-ten DEs looks good on recruiting websites, but it's not that huge. It's better to have your top recruits at a variety of positions. Why a top-ten defensive end would settle for backup, I don't know. Also, they don't even have a solid D-coordinator. Things don't add up here. It makes no sense for a bunch of players to buy into Meyer's glory stories of winning championships years ago.
ReplyDeleteand it will be a fun battle. Michigan Off Line vs Ohio Def Line. Aaah I cant wait. I really hope Garnett commits to Michigan.
ReplyDeleteLet Urban get all the early victories, OSU will always have a good recruiting class, and a lot of guys were just waiting to see who the new head coach was. He has a lot of early excitement going and he is a good recruiter.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, Brady Hoke didn't have to go crazy over a two week span, he built his class all year, just like he has already started for next year.
We will see how good things work out for Urban and his new offense in late November in the cold, up against a physical Mattison D. I can't wait, Go Blue.
Urban Meyer is a big name...being on ESPN is got him exposure these kids like. He was a good arm chair coach on TV. Lets just let him waste all his recruiting on star ratings. Going after big name athletes don't necessarily give you a good tea. He still has lots of positions to address and used most of his scholarships. I actually like the fact that they are recruiting well. If we want to show the sec who is boss we need Ohio to win their bowl games. Go Blue...and screw the sec!
ReplyDeleteGuess the NCAA is not going to do much to ohio. I find that amazing. Looks like practicing 15 minutes too much is worse then what ohio did. WTF...
ReplyDeleteidk if you guys remember but everything is going back normal. Notre Dame and Ohio State getting a BUNCH of great recruits. It is exactly like the 90's and Michigan always did better then those schools with the talent they knew about but nobody else did. Let them get there amazing recruits cause in the end our coaches will out coach the rest. Go Blue.

I guess I called this one.
I hope the ncaa grows a pair since hearing ohio coaches going around telling every recruit nothing else is going to happen. Drop the hammer....2yr bowl ban and 30 schollys over 3yrs
ReplyDeleteTheir class is still weak at WR and really weak along the O-line. DBs and LBs are not strong, either. D-line and RB are its strong points. Two four-star RBs doesn't mean much when you're running a spread. Their class is basically highly rated D-linemen, whatever. I don't care who they get. My problem is that the NCAA is letting them slide and that the decision to go easy has already been made way before the "official" release. I wish the info that ohio received is false and they come down hard.
ReplyDeleteI think Kozan just took his last OV today. I'd expect him to announce right after recruiting resumes, possibly.
ReplyDeletewill michigan have any commitmens on the two all american bowl games this week.?
