New Jersey tight end prospect Jack Tabb is likely to make his college choice this week, either Wednesday or Thursday. The five finalists are Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Arkansas and Rutgers.
Tabb got a visit from Coach Rod last week, which was great timing. Michigan has a really good shot here to land a four star tight end, mainly because Tabb is looking heavily at the schools, not just the coaching staffs.
He realizes that academics is the most important factor, and out of his list Michigan and UNC clearly jump out in that department. Fortunately UNC has plenty of it's own problems football wise, arguably worse than Michigan's.
He wasn't too impressed with Iowa, in fact they dropped out of his top schools a while back, so I don't think they're a competitor in this. He visited Arkansas quite recently, so maybe they have a shot, I haven't heard too much about Rutgers. So really it should be Michigan vs UNC, with maybe Arkansas as a wildcard.
His mom wants him to do a press conference thing with the hats, so I'll post the announcement details when they come out.
