Bad News........

Looks like we won't be having special guests joining the national signing day livechat...it's a violation of the booster rule to have fans interacting with prospects. I wasn't aware of these rules, so I apologize for the inconvenience.

Benji Edit: Lol

  1. If those are the rules, it is understandable. Great work still Simply.

  6. The rules are the rules. WE do not want UM in trouble with the NCAA for something we the fans did. Great idea and we thank you for the work you guys put in.

    Any word on Henry yet?

  7. I read somewhere the other day that Diamonds HS teammate is no longer considering U of Ark now. First question is. Is that true. And second does this change Diamond timeline and school?

  8. yeahhh! Willie Henry committed!
I think he'd be a BEAST DE. he reminds me of van bergen, but more athletic and nastier.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @ 3yards

I was thinking the samething. He does remind me of a more athletic Van Bergen. How does everyone feel about are final recruit we are going after (Jordan Diamond)? I think we have a good shot. I heard distance could be a factor. If that is true Arkansas would be out. I also know Wisconsin lost a lot of coaches that could have changed his mid about them.

    1. I personally think it's down to us and Wisconsin.. We were the early on favorites, so I'm crossing my fingers that he chooses us.

      Delete
    2. I'd say it's a 100% chance Diamond picks Michigan and yes distance IS a factor for him....

      Delete
    3. The only issue is that Wisconsin is basically Lineman-U. I think it's in our favor that he never attended camp randall for a game. But i do remember how pumped he was after the Michigan game he attended. I think it was Nebraska. I'd say it's a toss up. He loves the Michigan tradition, and he really enjoyed it here. But Wisconsin is Hog-Heaven and Beliema will probably get his hands dirty for him.
if he came to Michigan I would be so happy.

  10. I hope Chris Bryant is doing all he can to convince Jordan Diamond to go Blue!

  11. OK so it looks like signing day is going to be a little boring on Wednesday for us. I would love a signing day surprise but I just don't see it happening. Muller is recommitting to Rutger so he out. The only surprises maybe Diggs but I think he is OSU bound, Neal who I do not know anything about or if it is possible. There is Dan Gibbs but why use a scholarship when he is willing to walk on. You can always offer him later. Weather signing day is boring or not for us I am very happy with the class Hoke and company are bring in. Go Blue.

  12. Brady Hoke on ESPN college football live at 3:40.

  13. Diggs ? - Geez .... ' some one push me over the ledge, end the misery on this Diggs subject '...thanks.!

vote for denard robinson! The problem is that he's on there twice, and everybody else is only on there once, so it'll be tough for him to take the lead

  16. Jer89... turns out there WILL be a signing day surprise!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. @ E and M what are your resourses on the signing day surprise?

    ReplyDelete
  18. rumor has it... WR committed to an SEC school is making the switch?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know who might be the signing day surprise. I'll give you guys a hint. It's a WR.

    ReplyDelete
  20. are you putting emphasis on "will" because you're saying there WILL be a surprise? Or is the emphasis because we signed WILLie Henry?

  21. Allen Treiu, Sam Webb, etc... where there's smoke, there's fire!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Alan

This is coming from Sam Webb. It will not be a Stefon Diggs level surprise and it may or may not happen

    ReplyDelete
  23. well, do we need another WR, is there anything about a DB?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Actually there is very little out there and I have a theory of my own.

The big names, Webb, Trieu are getting us all on the edge of our seats in the interest of viewership and readership

The other recruiting gurus are feeding us what they hear from the above mentioned.

We the crazed fans are actually sitting on the edge of our seats like Sam and Allen want us to and we can't wait for our own gurus to regurgitate what they are getting from Sam and Allen.

    Gotta Love Recruiting!!

At this point after our disappointing week......I just don't want to lose any of our verbals. Additional commits will just make me dance.

    1. not really. we don't need any more players with dreadlocks.

  27. ESPN has a list of offers that we have given, and here are the WR offers that have guys currently committed to the SEC.

    Avery Johnson (23 Wr LSU)
Jody Fuller (31 Wr South Carolina)
    Latroy Pittman (24 Wr Florida)
    Drae Bowles (16 Wr Tennessee)
    Ja'Quay Williams (26 Wr Auburn)
    Jason Croom (54 Wr Tennessee)

All four stars with the exception of Croom. Simply, is he on this list? Does anybody remember any of these guys visiting?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hmmm, give me croom. 6'5? Yes please.

Pittman is super slow, 6'1, 200 lbs runs a 4.7? not ideal...

      Delete
    2. Avery Johnson is listed as a soft verbal to LSU; however, the other schools he has interest in doesnt include UM

      Delete
    3. Pittman also listed as a soft verbal with interest in Notre Dame.

      Delete
  28. I say its Croom.

And Sam Webb broke the news after I wrote my comment.

    ReplyDelete
  29. None of these guys have even visited UM. why would they make the switch on NSD? I am highly skeptical.

  30. I have been sitting back and watching all this recruiting stuff unfold. I am amused by some of the comments on here, but I love the passion you all have for Michigan football. We really need to give Coach Hoke a couple of years to get his type of players. I believe Hoke is on a mission to get young men with character, passion for the game and people that care about the team and put the team first. I have never felt better than having Brady Hoke as Michigan’s football coach. I ran across this article on Hoke’s approach to recruiting and it sure is nice to see a coach with principles.

  31. "Meyer is reportedly telling some current players their services will no longer be needed at OSU. They were 3 over their limit a week ago."

somebody posted on ESPN, if there's any truth to this, what a snake

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is from The Big House Blog: It also seems that the NCAA's loss of scholarships won't hurt OSU because they will just cut players to make room for the players they want. The Columbus Dispatch reported that OSU was full before Armani committed and they are also recruiting other players for this years class. Urban learned a few tricks at Florida and brought those to Columbus.

    1. SEC class...Not the way the B1G does it.

    2. Its the way Meyer does it.

    3. I mentioned this the other day. This is the the way over-signing is done when you have the league limiting how many you can sign now. Alabama only had 12 players graduate or go pro last year, but signed 24. They had exactly 12 players either transfer or get medical hardship schollies in the months between NSD and the first day of fall camp. As long as a team is at 85 (82 for OSU) by the August deadline, they are "NCAA legal," though not ethical.

Hoke could have signed more than we had room for because he expected attrition after Spring Ball, and yet he didn't. That's called ethics. Go Blue.

  35. Jaquay Williams can flat out play.. He has nice hands and one thing you can't teach in a 6'4" inch frame and he is still growing....

    ReplyDelete
  36. First Post on this site. It seems like if he decommited he was going to UG where did Michigan come into play

    ReplyDelete
  37. I really could care less for another receiver. I'm ecstatic about Darboh and Chesson. not to mention funchess will probably convert.

unless the surprise recruit is an offensive lineman, defensive end, or running back I'm really indifferent. the weaknesses of this current team are
1: offensive line. they are small. no if's ands or buts, Hoke even said MSU out toughed us in the trenches. that should NEVER happen. we still can't run with the authority we want. the biggest holes came against WMU.

2: Secondary. speed and size. countess is good. but overall, we're slow. I like furman at safety.

3: quarterback. he can run. but He threw about 3 passes last season that wowed me. he should have 3 a game.

  38. I think it wood an awesome way tO finish the class with Williams and diamond and the rest for next year

  39. I remember how excited I was a few years back wehn we picked up Jeron Stokes on NSD as a big suprise that nobody saw coming, How did that work out....

I'm not saying this kid would be a bust, but I just thought I would throw that out there.

    1. I didn't like Stokes from day one and I'm glad he's gone...

  40. could someone explain to me please where this speculation is even coming from? I see nothing that indicates Williams coming to Michigan. Solid verbal to Auburn and with no coaching change theres no reason to decommit. Sam Webb said to TEMPER the illusions of grandeur, which means to chill out. its probably a 3* (if there even is one) and he's probably not a receiver.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No he's a soft verbal And nobody say's he's coming to Michigan.. What they are saying is he is looking in to Michigan and if he does sign with Michigan nobody will complain about it cuz the kid can play so now you can chill out...

  41. Anything can happen in recruiting. After all of the bad news this week it just got me excited.
