Pharaoh Brown Commits?

Wow, the interesting fact from below perhaps isn't so pointless?

Ohio DE Pharaoh Brown has committed to Michigan, becoming the 10th commitment for the class of 2012. Like Ojemudia before him, Brown visited today and clearly had a good time up in Ann Arbor.

This gives Michigan two defensive ends in the class, and I think they'll only take three, so I guess we're all hoping Chris Wormley is the third. I might slide Matt Godin back to defensive tackle on the Ideal Class list.

Michigan is simply on fire right now in recruiting, landing top Midwest prospects left right and center. This is great for the fans, because the offseason is usually quite dull, but certainly not this year! By the time the season rolls around, the commitments will probably dry up a bit, because the class will be nearly full, but then we have actual football games to watch!!! Perfect.

Commitment posts for both Mario and Pharaoh to follow in the morning.

  1. I was just thinking who have the most commits so far. Michigan should be right up there. Is there anymore commits coming?

  2. Matt Godin, Ron Thompson and maybe even Anthony Standifer could drop this week coming. I really hope MSU offers Standifer before he commits to us, because that'll just be gravy.

  3. Benji did you just name the silent commit?

  4. yes he did, going blue on the 12th. I hope Thompson doesn't come anymore and keeps pushing his date back, I don't want another TE to commit when we are in on so many big names and have 11 or so scholarships left only.

  6. Well I heard somewhere that Anthony Standifer could be visiting this Thursday, so there's a chance that he pulls the trigger on his visit.

  8. Pharaoh Brown is sooo underrated if you watch his highlight tape he's a monster. A man who is 6'6 220 i wouldn't be surprised if he is a 4 star or even 5 star recruit by his senior year comes around. Michigan adds 50 pounds on this guy he will be an all american. So athletic, get wormley here too and this D line will be crazy good.

  9. Brown will be a consensus four star by the time signing day rolls around, he's got so much upside.

  10. Not sure if anyone else seen it ( and sorry I'm not providing the link) but there is an interesting article on MGOBLOG which shows a little bit of interesting statisical analysis on how linemen are a bit harder to rate sine they have to beef up so much for the college game anyhow.

For my purposes I generally look who else is recruiting them as the best indicator since these guys know more than I do. Also, you all see the pattern? Both of these guys are real tall and have big frames, and at 220 they have to rely much more on technique rather than a simple bull rush even at the high school level. Unlike some guy who is already plus 260 who gets by on strength alone.

  11. He may only be 3 star now but Browns offer list reads more impressively.

  12. I was reading your other posts on Pharaoh Brown, the commitment profile I think and based on that, I thought he was going to commits pretty soon
