I'm from Wisconsin so I haven't heard any of the hype surrounding Morris, but is he really something special? I see he has the frame and potential to be a stud QB, but I seem to remember in the Carr Era all of our best Qb's came from pennsylvania, California etc. generally out of state. and the recent offer to Shallman makes no sense to me recruiting a fullback this early seems silly. Is Hoke going a little overboard with the Instate strategy?
Both Morris and Shallman figure to be four star prospects (maybe even a 5* with Morris), so I don't see a problem with offering them this early on. And Shallman can also play tailback and defensive tackle as well as fullback, he's just an all around good football player.
I saw his 40 time though and cringed a little; I don't doubt Hoke has his reasons I'm just waiting for the first non-ohio/Michigan recruit. and hopefully some big lineman watching the badgers pick up these giants year after year makes me wish Michigan could start doing the same thing
I fully expect Morris to be at least within the best 10 QBs in his class, maybe rivals will snub us again, but, in my eyes he's very worthy of an offer right now, which state he's from is not important whatsoever...
I'm just thinking with Fred Jackson, Mattison, and Hoke you knew they'd be able to recruit in-state and Ohio, but they have yet to land one from out of state and these past couple classes out of Michigan and ohio have been stacked its not going to last forever eventually they need to recruit the rest of the country. I sure am glad that we're done recruiting undersized hit or miss prospects though especially on defense.
lol Shallman's just because they said they want him at fullback and if he was to stay on the line I'd have no problem with it. if he's a fullback though is he going to be fast enough to get to the next level and deal with a linebacker who can run a 4.6 or 4.7 40? I like him more on the line so I'm confused as to why they want him as back
Yeh, I think a few analysts were a tad confused, as they had him as a DT. But still, he's got two years left, plenty of time for UM to change their mind and offer him as a DT.
Did you see Shallman's reel, the kid could move through the tackles and is pretty nimble for his size. From what I have heard they are going to want him for a Brandon Jacobs style RB/FB. He looks like he could really develop and is already a freak of an athlete for his size.
I like him a lot more on defense, but obviously Hoke and Jackson saw something I didn't; If he can block I've got no problem with sliding him in at fullback, I just don't ever think of fullback as a priority position. Next to tight end its about the most easy to fill position.
There is a rumor out there that if Godin commits on thursday he may commit as well. Would that be nuts two 2013 kids commit extremely early in one week. It could happen, we will have to tune in and see. LOL
Benji what have you heard about Dymonte Thomas? I just read over at Umgoblog.com that he outright listed michigan as his leader, and it can also be seen on rivals although it is behind a paid wall and i cant read the entire article. He is a kid with size at 6'1 180 lbs and runs around like a 4.5 40-yard dash. He is a RB/Safety in HS so I was also curious as to where he was offered to play at michigan.
I just wanted to get the word out about this RB in Georgia...As a Sophomore he out gained the #1 recruit in that state: Isiah Crowell, who will be attending UGA this fall...Kiamani Thomas, East Paulding High School,Dallas Georgia... he had a breakout year as Sophomore..over 1200 yards rushing...this kid can flat out play...he was also made the 2nd team All-American Sophomore team, and was invited to the State of Georgia's Invitational Combine in January of this year...He's has already received several letters of interests from the likes of: Notre Dame, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Vanderbelt and Mississippi State...however his family is orginally from Michigan...and would love to see him don the Maize and Blue in the recruitment class of 2014!....GO BLUE!!!..Brady Hoke & Fred Jackson...this kid could contribute to the Michigan Football Family
there is a young man from collins ohio that hasnt found a home yet to play football. Dillan Mullins heres his video link. http://youtu.be/Z8Bl5bi-0Cw and on www.scoutingohio.com
oh that is very interesting, I did click on each of the players's names and found the commitment information just as you said, thanks for sharing it with us buddy!
The way the coaches are going this one may be filled up by the end of the year too. LMAO

ReplyDeleteWho's forty time? Morris or Shallman, because Morris looks pretty mobile on film.
ReplyDeleteShallman is like 250lbs, so I could forgive a bad forty time for him :P
