What lies ahead...

Michigan currently has seven commitments for the class of 2012, and three of these are ESPN150 Watch list players; so its safe to say the class is off to a good start. However, we're about to take a jump up the 'not yet released' recruiting team rankings.

The Wolverines will be landing a top prospect tomorrow morning, as he plans to announce on Sam Webb's WTKA radio show, so make sure you tune into that if you can. I'm not sure what time the show starts, but I guess you won't have to wait long to find out who he is, unless someone pulls a Dayton Daily tonight.

But even beyond this commitment, there are rumors going around that Michigan could land another top Midwest prospect very soon too. Then we have the Ron Thompson and Matt Godin announcements on May 11th & May 12th. So it looks like within two weeks time, Michigan will be up to 11 commitments.

The job that Brady Hoke and Co are doing on the recruiting trail is simply stunning right now. They are owning the Midwest, and especially the state of Michigan. It's funny that right after MSU shares a B10 title, they are getting killed in recruiting.

Rich Rodriguez produced a top ten class with his first full year of recruiting, and now it's starting to look like Brady Hoke could repeat the act. Before I didn't give UM much chance of a top ten class earlier in the year, but now I think if a few more scholarship spaces free up, they might sneak in the 8-10 range.

Way premature. Michigan hasn't beaten OSU for a single prospect yet.

The top 3 prospects in Michigan (Ross, Richardson, O'Brien) are unsigned.

Things look optimistic now, but nothing significant has happened...yet.

  4. Michigan is on schedule to land Wormley, Diamond, Day, maybe Ross, Thompson, Godin. Plus they are likely to get at least one more four star from Ohio.
Our entire class is basically going to be from the Midwest, and I think Michigan will end up with the best class out of the Midwest schools (aka B10 + ND).
Michigan will already have the top Midwest class after these two weeks anyway.

  5. All this Pike, Dunn & Kiel talk is empty. It's a defensive player, Wormley or Ross. We will know early tomorrow.

  11. Dude quit asking about the silent committ. You want to make Benji out to be the Dayton Daily News of the UK ?. Yes it's gonna be Ross tomorrow. Word is spreading like you curiosity.

If you do not like what I am saying about the silent committ, say it or GTFO !

  12. I know both now. The silent commit is fairly obvious now. He's a defensive player from MI who's not a LB....

    As for tomorrow's recruit:

No clues, because I think most of you have narrowed it down to two guys, and naming the state would give it away.

As for the comment on MGoBlog, I'd take those kind of posts with a grain of salt. I remember someone over there saying he knew for certain that Zeke Pike was choosing Michigan...
I'm not saying it's not Ross, but yeh, those posts are often misleading.

  17. This is like the night before Christmas. This weekend just keeps getting better! First the Lions Draft, then Osama, and then this.

  18. Benji and Co., this is extremely random but Demar Dorsey is playing football at Grand Rapids C.C. in MI so I was just wondering if there is any possibility of him becoming a Wolverine if he performs well on the field and in the classroom over the next 2 years? Just food for thought.

  21. Bboygoblue if we were Alabama that would definitely be something we would do..And frankly if they are on scholarship I think Hoke should especially if this freshmen coming in is good

  22. Right on. Hoke is way classier than those SEC coaches. I think he even commented on not taking away recruits, during the 4 spring episodes, and not over-recruiting. These coaches will make the most of what we've got, and then Wile will make his kicks.
