Harbaugh to 49ers

NFL.com's Michael Lombardi is reporting that Jim Harbaugh will accept the job offer at the SF 49ers; leaving the Wolverines' fans very unhappy. Harbaugh has family on the West Coast, and he wants to be an NFL coach, so I guess it makes sense.

LSU plays tonight, and Michigan has been in contact with Les Miles; so I'll be watching the game with much interest!

  1. Hey benji, would a win or loss give us a better chance of getting him?? Idk which way to root...

  2. I'm never sure on these things, I was asking myself the same question for the Stanford game. Perhaps Les wants to go out on a high note; so I'll be rooting for a win.

  3. I don't think it matters if he wins or loses, the chances are about equal.

I take it from your post that you are somewhat a fan of Les. It seems that some (MGOBlog) really dislike him. He was my #1 choice all along, even over Harbaugh so I would love for it to fall that way. Do you think he would be a good hire?

  5. @godfather: i really like les miles for the michigan job. He recruits well and plays good defense, plus he has a dual threat qb at lsu so he knows how to use denard.

  6. Well, the way I see it, DB has to make the pitch & catch offer to Les, UM better be ready to put the $$ on the table. If Les says no, then might as well make the offer to Hoke, tomorrow's US Army All American will tell the true picture on the recruits, if we can at least get Kris Frost I will be happy, the coaching finding saga can't keep going on for days, there are still players in AA that need answers... NOW Mr. AD... go blue..

  7. Anybody happen to know how much miles is getting paid at lsu?? I heard we offered jh 5.2 mill a year, so if we throw that kind of money out there we might have a great chance!

  8. From what I understand he is getting paid close to $4 mill/year. If it happens,DB needs to go to work, tell it like it is, pay Miles, tell him he is needed in AA & hire the man.

  9. Miles would be a great coach for us, he would also give us a better chance of landing Terry Richardson in 2012.

  10. Ok thanks mike. I totally agree with you! Idk that we need Miles to get Richardson. We have a pretty strong pipeline with Cass Tech already, although he wouldnt hurt.

  11. I agree, upfront early info is TR would like to play in the sec, you also have James Ross, Royce Jenkins-Stone..etc. We just need to get the HC vacancy resolved, one way or another, this can't drage 2 weeks like the U.Miami, FL gig did... look at UF, they went after Muschamp big time & got him...we will see what happened

  12. Yeah it is nearly imposable to gain new commits, if its not hard enough keeping the ones we have now! We need a coach fast. At this point I would rather have a non-alum than get Brady Hoke. There has to be some good nfl coaches willing to come for the right $$$
