  1. Please let it be Harbaugh, please let it be Harbaugh, and please let it be Harbaugh.

  2. The problem for Brandon is that whilst Harbaugh is the popular choice with the fans, he's actually not that popular with the "old guard" of Michigan alum; even though he was coached by Bo. I think those guys want Brady Hoke. Personally, I think it HAS to be Harbaugh

  3. Welcome aboard! I'm just glad they made it all game without playing Gardner. He should be able to get that medical redshirt which could be huge if Denard goes.

  4. Yes, Rich is gone. He lost his job by himself. This game is not acceptable. I know Michigan could lose at any bowl game. This is not exception. However, I cannot accept like this kinds of game content. I beleive Rich is good coach as you think, and still beleive it is not a good idea to change coach. However, I have nothing to say a good word for Rich to Brandon. Maybe, Brandon wants this result. Yes, he did let Michgian players' morale down. I hate Brandon. He cannot reach the level of Bill Martin.
Anyway, the reality is that Rich Rodrigez is gone. Who is the next? Jim? I hope so, but it is not easy to land him. If Michigan could get Jim as their next, Brandon must be fired. He is resopnsible fot today's tragedy.

  5. Craig James seems to think Hoke is a better fit for UM? Not a long resume but a good last 2 years.

  6. Ugh! We'll be starting from square one again, it seems. Prepare for 2-3 more seasons of reshaping the program. As much as I love Harbaugh, if he comes in, then you can count on much of the same in another 2-3 years because he'll be leaving for the NFL. Agony.

  7. The classic conversation between UM fans:

RR Fan: Coach Rod had a lot of success at WVU

Other guy: Yeah but that's the Big East!!! The big east sucks!!!

So surely we shouldn't be impressed with a coach at San Diego State! No offence, I'm sure he's a great coach, but if we weren't impressed by four Big East titles, surely Hoke has to prove himself at a better school first? Or is it ok because he's a Michigan man?

  8. I understand what you are saying about Hoke. I am not sold on him either. I don't know anything about him, just curious.

Now if Harbaugh is a great coach it will not be another 2-3 years of rebuilding. It didn't take that long for Alabama or Auburn! Great coaches scheme to their talent level, they don't tear down and start over (RR)! Great coaches build on what they have and I believe Harbaugh will do just that.

  9. The key for Harbaugh is how he utilizes Denard Robinson. Can Robinson make the right decisions from under center? Or is Harbaugh better off trying to develop Gardner, and move Robinson to WR with Wildcat packages?

  10. This was truly a sad day for all Michigan fans. Adam Scheffter of ESPN (and a Michigan graduate) reported that all sources are landing Harbaugh in Michigan. We can only hope that this is the case. No matter who is brought in, Rodriguez must be let go. The worst loss in a bowl in Michigan history is unacceptable regardless of the tenuous situation of the coach. The recruiting class RR brought in this year was substandard for Michigan anyway, so losing a few of the recruits we have so coveted shouldn't hurt as bad as expected.

  11. Stanford does have the 11th best recruiting class according to Rivals, so they have talent that could join if JH is on board.

  12. F 'ing Embarrassing. What offense? Our offense sucked today. When has the offense been good against a decent defense this year?

SO-SO offense, SHITTIEST DEFENSE EVER. Fire Rich Rod.

Are there people out there still backing RichRod and using words like EXPLOSIVE to describe the offense?

  13. Stop being an idiot I'm all for rich rod being replaced, but the offense rod has produced is the best I've ever seen even with only 2 seniors who are lineman, the offense is put under extreme pressure because they have to score a td every drive to just keep it close, and if they get in the redzone they can't even kick a fg

  14. WBDrew, I think the offense is pretty good, but nothing super special. 7 points against OSU, 14 against Mississippi State. a hell lot more usually against bad teams though.

14 points is 14 points regardless of circumstance or pressure.

summary of my take on this. pretty good but not "best I've ever seen" Texas's Vince Young Offense scoring around 40 against a great USC team, now that sort of offense was AMAZING.

  15. RR is the head coach - it's his job to coach the TEAM, not just the offense. Our defense and special teams are some of the worst in the Nation - that falls on RR. I know G Robinson was hired by the AD and not RR, but RR was the one who told him to install the 3-3-5 so his WVU assistants could continue to coach on his staff.

The offense was good but it IS D. Robinson.

    PS
Stanford 40.3 ppg (9th in the Nation)
San Diego State 35.0 (19th in the Nation)
MICHIGAN 34.3 ppg (21st in the Nation)

  16. Please stop bringing up Brady Hoke at SDSU, he hasn't proved anything yet and hes been struggling at SDSU recently, as much as i dont like RR id take RR over Hoke in a heart beat

  17. Don't know where u get your info from but Dallas said he would stay committed regardless of the coaching situation even Dee came out and said that he was still committed but is taking a couple visits in January plus we are in excellent position for frost,Bryant, lyons and others!

  18. makes me so mad that Brian Kelly in his first season with Notre Dame took them to a bowl game and now has a 8-5 record. Not only that, they got better as the season went along. All with a bunch of injuries including their starting quarterback.

    FML

Wishlist - Harbaugh or Les Miles

Dreamlist - Pete Carrol, Urban Meyer or Bill Belichick

  19. @capstick: Dee Hart will not come to Michigan now. When he and HCD said there was a 90% chance they would stay together, this is what they were talking about! I think it'll be either Florida or FSU for him.
Crawford is much more likely to stay, but he's always been a Miami fan, and their new coach has just offered him, so he'll definitely take a look at them. Plus USC just offered too, and they might get a visit.
Both players might still be committed, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Michigan didn't sign either of them.

  20. you dumbasses are complaining about 14 points being 14 points but is it bad to only score 14 if you win. the offense was stuffed by a better defense and when we tried to throw the ball the receivers dropped the ball. Its hard to win when you cant get either aspect going and your defense is made up of mostly underclassmen. I hate to say it, but there has to be a point where the blame isn't put on the coach and is put on the players.

  21. @Logan: Roundtree dropped two touchdown passes in the second half. 28 points seems a lot more respectable than 14

    ReplyDelete
  22. yeah exactly. so you see my point. its hard to blame richrod when the players didnt do their "job" and execute the game plan

    ReplyDelete
  23. @ Logan,

yes, hard to blame to coach for players not doing their job for a game or 2.

But it ABSOLUTELY is on the coach for 3 years of the same shit.

  24. I am not sold on JH, unless he brings his current DC with him. He had horrific defenses the first three years of his stay at Stanford. And only this year has his defense shown that they can stop anybody.....We need someone who is committed to the nasty defenses that have characterized Michigan from these last several decades (excluding the RR years).

Personally, I am either for RR staying one more year to see what happens with a year more of experience with the offense and defense (with a different DC and a 4 front d-line) or for Les Miles. If RR stays and wants to be a "Michigan Man," then he needs to adjust on the defense front with a 4 front defensive line. I liked the look of TCU's 4-2-5 which can flex enough to handle the power game of a Wisconsin, and the Spread game as well. That would be an easier adjustment than going to the 4-3.

If he is gone, I would want Les Miles. His offense utilizes both pro and the spread formations and his defenses at LSU are among the best in the nation (I think it is #5 this year). If RR is fired, Les Miles might just be able to keep D-Rob from transferring......I know the mad hatter is crazy, but he is a proven winner in the toughest conference in the country......
