Frost to AU; Lyons to Stanford

If you haven't heard already, Michigan did not pick up any more commitments from the Army AA game today. Kris Frost chose Auburn live on national television, but it's possible that the Tigers don't have room for him in this class; so is the door still open for Michigan here? Have to wait a bit to find out for sure.

Wayne Lyons chose Stanford over Florida, Michigan and UCLA. Stanford has been his leader for a while (secretly), but it was in doubt when Harbaugh bolted for the NFL. Still, he made his decision based purely on the school, and Stanford was his favorite.

It's been a really rough couple of weeks for Michigan on the recruiting trail, and I can't help but look back to early October when UM were 5-0, at that point, this class was shaping up to be an absolute gem.

  1. I think we are going to lose Countess by the time it's all done. Unless we get LM or John Gurden x

  2. Do you mean Crawford. I thought Countess was committed to UM not the coach

  4. My thought, we will lose both Countess & Crawford... the longer the issue of not having a HC goes on, this is how this is playing out.

Whomever is named coach, that needs to get done so we can move on. The good, bad & ugly of college football....!

  5. I think Brian Townsend would be a good hire. Former Michigan football player, played under Bo Schembechler and coached Pioneer High School's basketball team to the state championship, also was at the college level in basketball at the University of Ohio. He's a great coach, very personable. definetly a michigan man and just knows how to coach.

  6. Brian Townsend played for and learned from the all-time best coach in college football and takes pride in defense as how you win championships... it's not as much about x's and o's for the head coach, it's how to communicate with and motivate players. I'd put Townsend up against any in that respect.... yeah, you're going to say that Townsend hasn't been a head coach at this level, but either was Bo and look how well that coaching change turned out.
